Join me from 7.20pm on Saturday as Leanne, Tyler, Bo and Vince sing it out for £100,000 and a record deal
8.27pm: And if you're wondering if any of that actually happened, or if you're just suffering terrible hallucinations from that bad egg sandwich riddled with tape worms that you ate earlier, here's a recap. It definitely happened. Sorry to let you down like this.
8.25pm: Jessie and Vince are doing Nobody's Perfect. And they're right. Jessie J, for instance, appears to be doing an impression of that bloke from Bros and Vince is wearing a silly hat. See? Not perfect at all.
Still, with all the smoke and fire and leather and wailing, at least I can convince myself that I'm actually watching a terrible low-budget horror film from the late 1980s. Admittedly it's a horror film that ends with the protagonist and antagonist shouting "Ning-ning-ning-ning-ning-ning-ning-ning!" at each other at close range, »

Sam Claflin / Prince Charming, Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) Snow White And The Huntsman Reviews Pt.1 Directed by Rupert Sanders, Snow White and the Huntsman stars On the Road / Breaking Dawn – Part 2‘s Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Prometheus / Young Adult‘s Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen Ravenna, The Cabin in the Woods / The Avengers‘ Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides‘ Sam Claflin as Prince Charming (William). To date, Snow White and the Huntsman reviews have been mixed — without extremes of “love” and “hate.” Those who enjoyed it have strong reservations; those who didn’t enjoy it, have given good notices to one or more cast members. Additionally, the film’s look has been generally singled out for extravagant praise. See below. "Haunted woods, Theron bathing in a vat of creamy milk, then smashing apart into dozens of flapping ravens… The images are stark and effective, »

I've seen "Snow White and the Huntsman" and I'm here to tell you that, when you factor in the free air conditioning, it is not the worst way to spend two hours. (This may not apply to readers in Alaska.)
The film is beautiful to look at, ends big and features a hallucinogenic mushroom that makes you think your hands are melting off. (Faaaaaaar out.)
In "Snow White and the Huntsman" you get to spend time with Thor (he's got an axe this time, not a hammer), seven of your favorite British "That Guys" shrunk down to dwarf size (hey, it's a mini Al Swearengen) plus Charlize Theron talking to the wall.
(Okay, there's a mirror who is totes connected to the "fair-o-meter" on the wall, but she's still talking to it.)
Fantasy film fans will feel right at home watching the film, however, since there are so many moments »

The art of the glass shot or matte painting is one which originated very much in the early ‘teens’ of the silent era. Pioneer film maker, director, cameraman and visual effects inventor Norman Dawn is generally acknowledged as the father of the painted matte composite, with other visionary film makers such as Ferdinand Pinney Earle, Walter Hall and Walter Percy Day being heralded as making vast contributions to the trick process in the early 1920’s.
Boiled down, the matte process is one whereby a limited film set may be extended to whatever, or wherever the director’s imagination dictates with the employment of a matte artist. In it’s most pure form, the artist would set up a large plate of clear glass in front of the motion picture camera upon which he would carefully paint in new scenery an ornate period ceiling, snow capped mountains, a Gothic castle or even an alien world. »

Hunger Games fans, are you unsatisfied with this ho-hum world full of naturally occurring animals? Well, never fear! According to a New York Times article, the books’ symbolic mockingjay — the Capitol-flouting hybrid of a mockingbird and the fictional jabberjay spy bird — isn’t inconceivable. “The tools needed to modify organisms are already widely dispersed in industry and beyond. Do-it-yourself biology is growing,” writes James Gorman. He cited Freeman Dyson of the Princeton-based Institute for Advanced Study (former home to Albert Einstein), who “envisioned the tools of biotechnology spreading to everyone, including pet breeders and children, and leading to ‘an explosion »

A military cyborg boy goes on the run in the 80s family sci-fi, D.A.R.Y.L. Ryan takes a look back at a decent movie with a misleading poster...
Ah, D.A.R.Y.L. One of the less commonly discussed family movies of the 80s, but one firmly lodged in my mind, largely because of its poster and subsequent videotape cover. Depicting a small boy at the helm of an Sr-71 Blackbird (inarguably the coolest aircraft ever designed), it immediately captured my youthful imagination.
Imagine my disappointment, then, when I discovered that D.A.R.Y.L. is not an all-action adventure about a kid hurtling about in a stolen aircraft, but a fairly low-key drama about a cyborg child slowly integrating into normal family life. The aircraft theft only occurs in the final reel, and is mere minutes long - if you thought the aerial action in Firefox came along disappointingly late in the show, as I did, »

Suburgatory star Jeremy Sisto and his wife Addie Lane welcomed a son into the world on March 9, but had trouble locking in a name.
"Unnamed boy is healthy as is Mom. Thanks for your wishes," he Tweeted two days later, adding "Don't tell my wife I had two glasses of wine while she had an epidural."
Clueless Reunion on Suburgatory
But late last night Jeremy Tweeted the official naming announcement.
"Little man finally told us his name; Bastian Kick Sisto," he wrote.
Images of The NeverEnding Story immediately flew into my head as if Falkor had delivered them himself! Whether or not Jeremy's son is named after the lead character in the children's classic is kind of irrelevant, since that's all anyone is going to think about. In fact, the first name is such an attention getter, you almost overlook the fact his middle name is Kick. Almost...

Dorothy and the Witches of Oz is simply a fun time at the movies. It manages to capture what an epic film of its scope should . pure entertainment from start to finish. Fun for the whole family and with a perfect blend of fantasy and comedy, Dorothy and the Witches of Oz reminds of some of the classic family films - such as The NeverEnding Story, The Dark Crystal, Willow and of course The Wizard of Oz. Inspired by the writings of L. Frank Baum, the film was written and directed by Leigh Scott and stars Christopher Lloyd, Lance Henriksen, Billy Boyd, Paulie Rojas, Eliza Swenson, Barry Ratcliffe, Sasha Jackson, Mia Sara, Jeffery Combs, Ethan Embry, Sean »

The first thing you about Vanessa Hudgens during interviews is her expert media training. Not that you should be surprised. Hudgens started acting at the age of 15, became a Disney mega-star after appearing in three "High School Musical" films, and is part of the never-ending tabloid rumor mill (particularly after a nude photo scandal back in 2007). As a result, she often stays on point when talking to the press.
However, during our conversation, Hudgens spoke about some of the things she's not typically known for: voicing a character on the raunchy Adult Swim show "Robot Chicken," participating in a Funny or Die video about cats, and taking a very un-Hudgens-like role as a pregnant teen in the upcoming film "Gimme Shelter." Granted, that doesn't mean she has given up fun movies for good. In her latest project, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," which hit hits theaters this Friday, she travels »

Few things are more important when it comes to building expectations for a movie than the title itself. While every aspect of a production – from the actors, to the director, or even a costume designer – can pique our particular interest in an upcoming movie, often it’s the title which will first form part of our decision over whether or not a film appeals to us.
Most of us realise that film titles don’t have to be as gratuitously up front as say Snakes On A Plane or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but it’s still often a surprise when something with such a seemingly literal title can often give us the completely wrong idea. When we walk into a video store with the urge to watch something new, it’s the title – or cover art – which will form our initial idea of what the film could be like. »

Whenever a movie studio announces plans for another remake, the reaction among fans and pundits is always the same: Hollywood doesn't have any new ideas.
But we like to look on the bright side of things, which is why we're so happy when we hear of a cool remake or reboot. Hey, who needs new ideas when there are already so many great old ideas waiting to be rediscovered?
With that in mind, we've compiled a list of 50 -- that's right, 50! -- upcoming Hollywood remakes that tickle our fancy. Because if these films were good the first time, you never know, you might just enjoy them even more the second time around.
