Touching little slice of life
inkblot1116 March 2005
Lewis and Suzanne have been living together for a few years now. Lewis takes care of the house and works a part time job. Suzanne, a television executive, is the main bread winner. It is Lewis' primary wish to have a child but Suzanne is balking because she fears she will be demoted or even let loose from her job. They decide to separate. Lewis looks for another girlfriend while Suzanne steps out with a fellow executive at the television studio. Where is the happy ending? This movie was made at a time when women were just starting to be taken seriously in the workforce. Also, men were realizing they were missing quite a bit of their children's lives by not being actively involved with their upbringing. Of course, these happenings demand a lot of soul searching for couples who are pondering pregnancy. The two attractive stars convey the emotional turmoil with poignancy. Although the film is obscure, those who prefer romantic dramas and who have run out of choices may want to try to seek out this one.
