Tim Sullivan: A Christmas Treat

21 December 2009 5:00 AM, PST | Underground Film Journal | See recent Underground Film Journal news »

‘Tis the season to start feeling jolly, so here’s an old holiday short film from horror maestro Tim Sullivan, A Christmas Treat. In fact, this is Sullivan’s first short film directed back when he was an Nyu student back in the ’80s. It’s a really well done short with a nice, slow set-up and a terrific punchline. It reminds me a lot of the old Tales From the Darkside TV show, which would have been a contemporary at the time this was produced.

I don’t think I’ve written about Tim Sullivan on Bad Lit before, but he’s one helluva nice guy and a wonderful horror movie director. There are two films by him you need to check out if you haven’t already. The first is 2001 Maniacs, an updating of the Herschell Gordon Lewis splatter classic that stars the legendary Robert Englund and the wonderfully quirky Giuseppe Andrews, »

Ted A. Bohus to Unleash Hell on Earth

8 August 2009 4:01 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Filmmaker Ted A. Bohus is best known for his much beloved cult classic The Deadly Spawn, which featured a truly phallic creature with rows and rows of sharp flesh-tearing teeth, but that just might change thanks to his hilarious, yet badass looking new indie feature Hell on Earth.

Undead Backbrain caught up with Bohus, who had this to say about the flick: "Hell On Earth uses the classic theme of humans fighting their way out of an impossible situation. Of course this 'impossible situation' just happens to be infested with all sorts of monsters, demons, and undead creatures."

Honestly? That's all we need to know. Demons. Gore. Goo. We are so fuckin' there.
