Betty has a crush on her tennis coach Mike. He keeps on promising to call, but never does - she doesn't know that he's a little dealer. After a failed deal in someone else's district he has to disappear for three months. He contacts Betty again, but she waits in vain - he's killed before they meet. Now she tries to find out what happened, asks around among his friends. This leads her right into the drug scenery. Written by

Did You Know?
Writer/director James Bridges originally wrote and edited the film so that the story played chronologically backward, similar to what Memento and Irreversible did 16 years later. However, the studio got nervous, thinking it was too complicated and hard to follow, and had the film re-edited in chronological order for release. See more
Mike's cigarette changing of position in between shots during the car scene. First the cigarette is unlit in his mouth but during close-ups on his face the cigarette disappears, and when the camera changes to another position he's holding a half lit cigarette. See more
