Storyline
Miami Vice cop Sonny Crockett is working undercover to get a Columbian drug lord. When he tries to bust a man who is apparently in business with the Columbian he discovers that the man is New York cop who is also after the Columbian. This pilot film kicked off the popular television series of two undercover narcotics cops as they work the streets of Miami to fight against drugs and crime in south Florida. Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas team up against the backdrop of the glitz and allure of the hip tropical culture of this city that is more Latin and Caribbean than American. The women, cars, clothes, and speedboats are all a major part of the production design of the show which has the right mixture of polish and attitude. Olivia Brown and Saundra Santiago are among the cast of regulars on the show. The program also spawned a major movie film production several years later.
