Interesting tale of an WW2 American vet who comes back in Normandy, at Omaha beach, where he fought on D DAY twenty years ago.
A man who actually was a deserter and who lived with it all these years. A man who lived with his own shame and tries to find his redemption, to at last prove to himself that he is a hero after all.
He will face many difficulties on his way, especially among the local population who find out who he really is.
A sad story, with bad results in the end, but in fact not so awful.
Jean Pierre Cassel gives here one of the most interesting performance of his entire career
