A very enjoyable biography on a truly remarkable man, 4 July 2001
Author: Marcel de Vries (m.c.de.vries@wanadoo.nl) from Den Haag, the Netherlands

I came into possession of the video of this biography by pure coincidence but now that I have seen it I am pleased that I did.

It shows Theodore Roosevelt from a young boy to a great man. I was pleased to see he, like his nephew Franklin, has dutch ancestory.

The death of his first wife, his battles against early political opponents, his rise to the presidency, his progressive party run against the conservatives and the special interests, the rough riders, his tours of Africa and Europe, it's all in there.

There is even some historical video/sound footage. Actor Bob Boyd does a good job on the parts that were acted.

The only minus point of this video I found to be the music. I didn't like it, it just kept going, they could have done with a little less of that.

And which political buff wouldn't have liked to see Teddy, who was almost certain of the 1920 Republican nomination when he died a year earlier, up against then Democratic vice-presidential candidate Franklin Roosevelt (who later became a 4 term president himself).

All things combined, the indomitable Teddy Roosevelt is a worthy tribute to a fine man, a great president, and a beloved personality.
