Craig Parsons and David Goldman are two high school students who seem to have nothing in common. Craig is a quiet guy who shuns almost everyone, while David is the popular high school athlete. In fact, they aren't even friends. However, nobody is aware that both harbor some devastating secrets - Craig comes from a broken home and is shunned by his custodial father, while David is the star athlete who is under immense pressure by his parents to carry out the dreams of his late brother. Both of them realize, together, that they are pondering a very identical way to deal with their situations: suicide. Will anyone recognize the warning signs before it is too late? Sheer Brilliance
8 January 2003 | by (manly, australia) – See all my reviews

Although the subject matter about teenage suicide can at times be highly depressing, this After School Special handles the topic with much care and sensitivity. David (Lee Montgomery - Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Mutant, Ben, Burnt Offerings, Prime Risk, Into the Fire) and Craig (Robert MacNaughton - E.T., I am the Cheese) are students with nothing in common, except for the fact they both wish to end their youthful lives. Brilliantly performed all round, especially by Montgomery. Terrific in all aspects and highly recommended.
