TRUE STORY
coop1st9 May 2004
This is an amazing story of how one man, Vincent Lavery, brought children from opposing sides(Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland) of an age-old conflict together to counter the ever-present dehumanization of "the other". Lavery's organization was successful. This is a great story, one that really puts things into perspective. It is thought provoking and emotion evoking. Anybody who has been touched by violence and hatred or knows of the situation in Northern Ireland will appreciate this movie, this story and Lavery's organization. Something else to note in the story is overwhelming courage in the children to forge friendships with children of their opposing religion while family, friends and peers are working against them. The best thing about it is that it is 100% true in all aspects. I would definately recommend this movie to anyone.

Are you Irish? Interested in world events? Enjoy stories about war? Concerned about human relationship? Interested in world peace? Guardian of a child? Like Children? Interested in social research? ....Heck -> Like violence, blood & war!? Like TRUE STORIES THAT CHANGE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!

If ANY of the above is true, then THIS MOVIE IS FOR YOU!!!!

If you have a heart or if you think you might, please watch this wonderful movie! This is based upon true events!

Four children are taken from their hate filled world in Northern Ireland (these being mixed religions, both Protestant and Catholic), brought to America, placed in homes (Cath. w/ Prot.) and given the chance (without adult influence) to make their OWN decision as to who is friend or foe!!! You Can't miss this one!

A wonderful Man

In my senior year of high school 92-93 I had the pleasure of Having Vincent Lavery as one of my teachers. He was teaching Government and econ. her in Fresno, ca. He was also a great soccer coach. It took me a little while to understand why he was explaining what was happening in his home land before I could understand what it meant to us here in the USA. I learned a lot from this wonderful man and He tough us about Children's Committee 10 and 20 which was what created the movie Children in the crossfire. I believed that he made a large difference in these children's lives do to the fact that he had a positive affect on my life almost 22 years ago.
