It is a beautiful story about a young girl (Cuicui) and a grandpa happened in Xiang Xi (West part of Hunan province). There are green mountains, clear river, and pure people. The grandpa runs a ferryboat and Cuicui helps him. Cuicui was growing up day by day, two brothers from a big family in the town both like her. But life is not that easy... Like most of Shen CongWen's stories, it describes the peace, beautiful, and poor life in Xiang Xi.
