Sex & Nudity

  • A lot of episodes often dealt with prostitution. Nothing shown during those episodes. No sex or nudity shown.
  • In the episode with Melanie Griffith, she is a hooker and there is a very intense sex scene with shots of her and Johnson in the doggy-style position, implied nudity, and the expression on her face implied anal sex.

Violence & Gore

  • In nearly every episode, there were plenty of shootouts. Characters were shot and killed. Not graphic. In Season 5 there was a shootout in a deli that showed blood and innocent people shown on the floor dead from gunshot wounds. A main character is shot in Season 3. Shown on a stretcher and flown to hospital. Not graphic. At least one character is shot or killed in every episode. None of is shown to the audience in a graphic manner. Would rate the violence in show to be shown to ages 12 and up. Considering it was the 80's and on network television, none of the violence was presented in a graphic way.

Profanity

  • Uses of "Damn", "Hell" and "Bastard" are said.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The show did feature scenes that involved wine. A couple of episodes did involve beer. Very mild was shown.
  • Crockett smokes heavily in Season 1 and 2, but halfway through Season 2 he has given up the habit and never seen smoking again.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • One of the main characters is shot during a shootout. Is placed in a life or death situation. May frighten the smallest of children. Multiple characters are shown dead from gunshot wounds. Not presented in a graphic way. This show was on network television in the mid to late 1980's. Very mild compared to today. This show is not intended for children under the age of 12.
