Storyline

Follow the highs and lows of the townsfolk of Wandin Valley. This fictional drama TV series revolves around the daily happenings of a 'small town', rural Australian hospital, its doctors and nurses, patients, and pretty much everyone in the locale. An Australian, heart warming drama series that at times will see you laughing hysterically and at other times crying rivers. Well worth watching. Written by bjhmelton

Trivia

The episode where Molly Jones dies of cancer was one of the highest rating in the series history. Although the rating system of the day was antiquated, the episode rated in the high 30s which equates to more than a 30 per cent share of all prime time viewing, across five free to air networks - in US terms, roughly equivalent to an episode of Charlie's Angels at the height of its popularity. It dominated newspaper front pages of the day, and is still one of the most discussed episodes of Australian TV. See more »

A Country practice was a great series
17 September 2006 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

A Country Practice was a great series with lovable characters. If you can get the DVD's grab them. All the characters interact so well that you come to believe they are real people who love and annoy each on a day to day basis. They made you laugh and cry with them as though they were part of your own family. The animals were as much citizens of Wandin Valley as the people were and just as lovable. The theme music written by Mike Perjanik is unforgettable, as soon as you hear the piano start play those first few notes you are transported back to those beautiful green fields and that gorgeous building used as the hospital. i think everyone who watched A Country Practice wanted to live there.
