I was fortunate enough to catch Coraline in Real 3D when it came out to the theatres. I dug the flick quite a bit. I thought it was a pretty faithful adaptation from Gaiman’s story as well and Selick’s direction was pretty right on. Sadly, it is the only stop-motion animated film in 3D and I think that is a shame. I believe stop-motion better lends its qualities to the 3D format than CGI. So, I’m excited to give you some news that some of the same team behind Coraline is back to give you some more three dimensional stop-motion! Read beyond the break…

Currently in production, ParaNorman is being directed by Sam Fell and Chris Butler, from Mr. Butler’s original screenplay. Mr. Fell was director of The Tale of Despereaux and Flushed Away. Mr. Butler was storyboard supervisor on Coraline and »

Kids need horror too. You've gotta raise the young ones right, you know. Personally we recommend repeated viewings of Mad Monster Party and then - boom - right into Martyrs. But for those of you not willing to subscribe to such a regiment, there's an alternative coming your way!

Valve is delivering a game industry shock this summer, offering Portal 2 owners free Dlc on the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3 (the latter console of course contingent on the Psn being resurrected).
That’s right. I said it. Free.
Remember when game publishing was about bringing home gamers innovative new ways of entertainment? You know, when a developer/publisher said, “Hey, let’s make a great game.” And, not, “Hey, let’s make part of a great game and fix it in a sequel or charge home gamers for fixing something we should have got right the first time around.”
Innovation is almost a forgotten principal in today’s rape-you economy of game publishing. Everyone wants to create new gadgets and wacky gizmos instead of creating immersive, memorable experiences. Why? The power of the dollar, particularly the gamer’s dollar. There is nothing worse than buying a game and »

"We are the No. 1 new show on television," the Emmy-winning home-screen veteran proudly notes to Zap2it about his CBS police-family drama. "To be that on Friday night is rather remarkable, because there are less TV sets on. Do I care where we go [on the schedule next season]? That's kind of above my pay grade, but Friday didn't scare me.
"When 'Magnum, P.I.' was going on the air, they said, 'Thursday is kind of a dead night.' Then we went on, then 'The Cosby Show' went on, and Thursday has been one of TV's biggest nights forever more. They moved 'Blue Bloods' temporarily to Wednesdays to set up a new show ('Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior'), and that obviously was »

“Have no fear; Pam Grier is here…a chick with drive, who don’t take no jive.”
The trailer for Coffy (1973)
She’s wearing a short dress that barely covers her curvaceous brown body. Her hair is styled in an impressive afro. In the darkness of the bedroom she purrs in front of us – sexual and wanting. But as she turns we see she is no longer so willing. Her eyes become steel, we see a gun:
“This is the end of your rotten life you mother fucking dope pusher,” says Coffy and a squeeze of the trigger sprays the gangster’s head all over the wall.
Pam Grier had arrived.
1973s Coffy didn’t just make Grier a star; it turned her into an icon. Written and directed by Jack Hill, the film offered one of the blaxsploitation genre’s first female protagonists. Indeed here was a rare action hero, »

Bill Cosby has credited The Cosby Show with helping to change popular culture during its airing. Speaking to PopEater, the comedian praised the sitcom for its approach to displaying the everyday family dynamic, as he believes it set a good example for shows that have come since. "The Cosby Show reminded us we are all one family," he explained. "It lifted us up and up to higher ground. The Cosby Show made an impact on comedy, television and culture. We rejected lowering the bar." A friend of the star also told the website that (more) »

Last weekend, husband-and-wife Tracy Pollan and Michael J. Fox got together with some of the most beloved actors on television at the taping of the TV Land Awards 2011, which the nostalgic cable network will televise Sunday (April 17). Pollan played Ellen Reed to Fox's Alex P. Keaton at the end of NBC's "Family Ties," one of the shows that was celebrated.
The event was "surreal," Pollan maintains. "I mean, there's no other way to qualify it. I didn't know what to expect, and it was a huge deal. I've been to the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes, and this was definitely as big. I haven't experienced that many photographers and that much press in a long time, and Michael said the same thing. It really brought everybody out.
Veteran funnyman Bill Cosby has fallen out with Donald Trump after criticising the property mogul's ambition to run for office in the U.S.
The comedian spoke out about Trump's plan to launch a bid for the White House in 2012 during an interview on America's Today show last week (ends10Apr11). He appeared on the programme shortly after Trump, telling host Meredith Vieira, "He's full of it... You run, or shut up... but the only thing he's running is his mouth".
Trump says, "The other day on the Today show, right after I was interviewed by Meredith Vieira... I happened to watch Bill Cosby who was on at the end of the show. While I have never been a fan of Cosby's, I had always assumed he liked or respected me because every time I met him... he was always so nice, saying, 'Let's get together' - asking me out to dinner, and being polite...
" In any event, as I watched the (Today) show... I was surprised to hear him blabber, somewhat incoherently, 'You run or shut up.' The hatred was pouring out of his eyes when he said this...
"I wish he would be more honest, and if he doesn't want me to run because he's obviously an (Barack) Obama fan, he should state the reasons and not come into my 'green room' in front of numerous witnesses and treat me like his best friend, only to denigrate me when I'm not around. Sadly, he got more attention talking about me than he did on the merits of his own appearance - maybe he is not as dumb as I thought." »
Happy 33rd birthday to Brett Claywell, still our favorite guy in scrubs.
Good news for fans of Desperate Housewives. All four leading ladies have signed on for an eighth season, with an option for a ninth. And Vanessa Williams has also re-upped for next year, so the show will remain watchable. Speaking of renewals, EW.com has a scorecard of which shows are sure things to return, and which are "iffy." Brothers & Sisters is still on the second list. The TV Land Awards were filmed over the weekend, and usually I'd be squeeing all over the place looking at the pics. I'll still watch the program when it airs on TV Land on April 17th, but I'm just not as interested as I was say, two years ago when the planets aligned and we got Nph hosting, a Knot's Landing reunion, and a tribute to Sid & Marty Krofft that included »
