Top 10: Maria Ford movies

28 September 2012 2:01 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

If you’re a fan of action movies, particularly those that went direct to video in the 1990′s, you might know the name Maria Ford. A recurring co-star of Don “The Dragon” Wilson (she appeared alongside Wilson in four of his films, including Futurekick, Ring of Fire 1 & 2 and Night Hunter), Ford was also a staple performer in many of Roger Corman’s Dtv efforts in the same decade…

However for everyone who isn’t a hardcore action movie nerd like myself (or indeed if you didn’t grow vicariously through VHS rental during the decade), Maria Ford is probably a name you won’t recognise, but a face you will. With over 50 credits to her name, she’s appeared everything from sleazy skin flicks such as The Key to Sex to family-friendly comedies such as Addams Family Reunion and Beethoven’s 5th…

These are 10 of her best films:

A veteran of beloved shows like Happy Days and Charles in Charge, Scott Baio has a new family sitcom. Starting October 6th, you'll be able to see him on Nick at Nite in See Dad Run.

The sitcom revolves around Baio's character, an actor who starred as "America's favorite dad" on television for a decade and is now a stay-at-home dad. The show also features the talents of Alanna Ubach and Mark Curry and, interestingly enough, is being shot on the old Happy Days sound stage.

Here's the press release from Nick at Nite:

Jimmy Fallon's new album stars Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews and more

8 May 2012 3:36 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

It was only a matter of time: Jimmy Fallon will release a new album full of the parodies he and such guests as Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews, and Bruce Springsteen have made famous on NBC's “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” Out June 12, “Blow Your Pants Off” features no stand-up routines, just Fallon's own impressions on such tunes as “Tebowie” and “Bob Dylan Sings ‘Charles in Charge’,” as well as viral hits like his and Timberlake’s “History of Rap,” and “Balls In Your Mouth” featuring Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, according to Rolling Stone. Fallon’s only previous album was 2002’s “The Bathroom »

Speaking of things I can’t get enough of: cats. In space.

Why anyone listens to Kirk Cameron, I don’t know. The dude just spouts hatred and bile. But hey, this video shows the not hot chick from Charles in Charge, and she looks great! There’s hope for all of us.

Kirk Cameron gets Funny or Die treatment from former child actors

13 April 2012 10:53 AM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

If one good thing came out of former "Growing Pains" child star Kirk Cameron's public anti-homosexual stance, it may be the solidarity inspired in his fellow child actors.

Courtesy of Funny or Die?, former child stars -- including Keith Coogan ("Adventures in Babysitting"), Kenn Michael ("The Parent 'Hood"), Brice Beckham ("Mr. Belvedere"), Josie Davis ("Charles in Charge") and Christin Lakin ("Step by Step") joined forces as Ccokc -- "Child Celebrities Oopposing Kirk Cameron." Sure, it may be a month or so too late, but the effort is still appreciated.

And Ccokc makes a good point:

TV Review: Eastbound & Down 3.6, ‘Chapter 19′

28 March 2012 3:19 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

It’s a family affair on ‘Chapter 19’ this week as Kenny and conman/father Eddie are reunited with Mother Powers, guest start Lily Tomlin. Both have ulterior motives though, Kenny wanting to unload Toby on her and Eddie just simply wants to rob her. Feel the love.

As the episode begins we see how Kenny’s mom, Tammy, is as deluded as Kenny is about his fame and greatness when she punches a rival bowler square in the face for badmouthing him. I wouldn’t expect anything less from the mother of Kenny Powers. The potty-mouth matches up too. Kenny and Stevie arrive at the house with Kenny’s estranged brother as Eddie hides in some bushes. Stevie continues to be an emotional, and now bald, wreck after his split with Maria. Eddie receives a swift shot to the nuts when revealing himself to his ex-wife after 27 years of abandonment, »

Event Report – Teen Wolf Reunion Screening!

22 February 2012 1:39 AM, PST | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

There are few things in this world that rival my love of horror cinema, but one of them is most definitely the sub-genre known as the “80′s comedy”. There’s something really special about almost all of the comedies (and hell even the dramas) of that era. Even the not so good ones at the very least had heart. And one film that I hold in the highest possible regard is Rod Daniel’s 1985 feature film debut Teen Wolf starring (at the time) TV sensation Michael J. Fox. Although shot before Back To The Future, the movie didn’t get a proper release until after that flick was huge at the box office. And over the years with the help of the home video market and non-stop HBO airings, the cult following for Teen Wolf only grew larger and larger eventually spawning a sequel, an animated television series (!) and most »
