a interesting movie
5 January 2002 | by See all my reviews

at my elememenrtary school I heard a lecture on the problems the arba nations were hsaving inthe 1960's and 1970's when black september and october were running around..the star cults. these groups were extremists who were into cultism and not islam..this is often aquqinted with marxist satnaism or communism of the 1800's in american cities (bright mornign star or star cults aka angel cults aka 1800's ufoism). The same holds true in the arab block during those era and the late 1960's. The aftermath is the setting of this film about a man killed by extremists for being a humanitarian peace lover in his twlight years. Sadat fought on the side of the germans in ww2 but in later years became a statesmen respected in the arab and israeli communities. His stand for peaceful resolution of problems in the wake of the arab israeli wars was a noble cause. he ended up becomign a martyr. This fine film is one of the best projects ever worked on by mr. Gossett Jr. This is also a fine tv film.
