(The ultimate genre hero for NRA-nerds returns...) Meet Duke Togo aka. Golgo 13. A man so macho, it fucking took both Ken Katakura and Sonny Chiba to portray him in the live-action movies. He is James Bond without a conscience, without a boss, and without witty repartee. The only man in fiction able to stare down Chuck Norris, allegedly. A private assassin whose sole hobbies concern guns and hookers, and who really doesn't give a shit what you think about that. He's no hero, not even an anti-hero. Golgo 13 is an anime based on the long running manga of the same name by Takao Saito that has been in release since the late 1960s, the same golden era as other classics like Speed Racer and Wild 7. The popular Golgo 13 franchise also includes a number of live action films, animated features and video games. Duke Togo, nicknamed 'Golgo 13', is a hired assassin with incredible skills and a reputation of being "an unimaginably talented elite-class sniper". He has the ability to hit his targets with unequalled accuracy. Whisper of the Heart is out on Double Play Blu-ray for the first time on January 9th courtesy of Studio Canal. One of the classic Studio Ghibli movies, the film is written by animation master Hayao Miyazaki and directed by his protégé Yoshifumi Kondo.
