Trivia

The movie became something of a cult film in Soviet Russia where it was the only Japanese monster movie to see a release before the 1990s. Interestingly, it wasn't the prehistoric creatures that caught the attention of audiences, but the depiction of a foreign capitalist country with its modern advancements. See more »

Yet ANOTHER Japanese monster movie.
24 December 2000 | by (Akron, Ohio.) – See all my reviews

You have to really be addicted to Japanese monster movies to actually like this film. I mean, I love Godzilla films, and the Gamera movies are lovable in their own goofy, juvenile way, but this film is just plain worthless. Plot: giant dinosaur rises from the sea, and you can probably guess what happens after that. This film holds the distinction that it was shown on MST3K back when the show was on KTMA TV-23. With that fact in mind, this film is worth viewing out of curiosity on MST3K, but alone, I suggest viewing something else.
