In this animated tale, a tiny village is destroyed by a surging glacier, which serves as the deadly domain for the evil Ice Lord, Nekron. The only survivor is a young warrior, Larn, who vows to avenge this act of destruction. The evil continues, however, as Nekron's palace of ice heads straight towards Fire Keep, the great fortress ruled by the good King Jarol. When Jarol's beautiful daughter, Teegra, is abducted by Nekron's sub-human ape-like creatures, Larn begins a daring search for her. What results is a tense battle between good and evil, surrounded by the mystical elements of the ancient past. Written by

After the attack of the water monster, Teegra stabs the last sub-human with a very pointy stick. As she stabs, we see the stick remains lodged in the chest of the sub-human. In the next shot, as she falls on her back recovering from the attack, the stick is back in her hand. See more »
You have done well, my son. The North Village has fallen. We have won.
I want to thank you, Mother.
The Great Plain is all that stands between ourselves and Fire Keep.
That is a long distance.
A distance we may not have to travel. I am sending our envoys to Jarol with our new demands.
He will not submit.

Forget "Wizards", this is the best Ralph Bakshi ever has given! Using Frank Frazetta's characters and art, he created this beautiful and stunning epic that has more life and interest than any other movie he has done. Wheras "Wizards" just is confusing and way too cartoonish to be taken seriously, "Fire and Ice" never shows any humor or cartoonish elements. It is simply a straight foward and to-the-point action cartoon. It also is a bit deeper and interesting than most of the other "sword and sorcery" movies in the 80s. Definately recommended!!!!
