Storyline

In this animated tale, a tiny village is destroyed by a surging glacier, which serves as the deadly domain for the evil Ice Lord, Nekron. The only survivor is a young warrior, Larn, who vows to avenge this act of destruction. The evil continues, however, as Nekron's palace of ice heads straight towards Fire Keep, the great fortress ruled by the good King Jarol. When Jarol's beautiful daughter, Teegra, is abducted by Nekron's sub-human ape-like creatures, Larn begins a daring search for her. What results is a tense battle between good and evil, surrounded by the mystical elements of the ancient past. Written by Rone Barton Lokarr <sandbox2@ix.netcom.com>

Goofs

Darkwolf rescues Larn from Nekron's iceberg, then both head to Fire Keep. They proceed to convince Jarol to lend him the Dragonhawks so they can return to the glacier to rescue Teegra and kill Nekron. Why didn't they simply infiltrate the glacier while they were still there? After all, Larn got close enough to fire an arrow at Nekron. Darkwolf could have killed him there, instead of wasting time heading back to Fire Keep. See more »

Quotes

Teegra: Nekron, you're a great power in the world. You have all that any man ever wants or needed... and yet you despair. For there is one thing you lack - one gift that only you can bestow between our people. Peace. This is the gift that heals the heart of the giver. Nekron, I extend my hand in friendship. I offer peace between our people. Will you not take my hand? Will you not call me friend?
Nekron: Woman, I spit on peace. I spit on you.

Very cool fantasy animation...
26 May 2004 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I first saw this film way back, probably when I was 7 or 8 years old and it impressed me then as it does now. I'm a fan of animation in general be it anime, American animation or otherwise. The beautiful animation of this film holds up well even today in our age of computer animated everything. In fact, every new animated film that comes out uses the same tried and true crappy looking mix of CGI and animation and to be honest, I'm tired of it. I miss those days of hand painted, hand drawn animation. This is a fine example of bygone days where animation got along just fine without the use of bad looking CGI and computer overlayed animation. This is an excellent film and anyone at all interested in fantasy, D&D or just animation in general should most definitely find yourself a copy of this film.
