This forgotten gem of a TV movie deserves to be better known.
Suzanne Pleshette is superb as the bordello owner sentenced to work in
a convent run by Cloris Leachman. The plot has some welcome humor along
with melodramatic twists, and the supporting cast is top-notch.
Stereotypes are plentiful here: rigid nuns, a carefree madam, and town
officials with skeletons (and negligees) in their closets. But that's
no drawback to film with so much heart and spunk.
Perhaps inspired by "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," this
entertaining TV movie is beautifully filmed and delivered with heart.
Seek it out if you can, and grab it if you find it. 7/10 stars from me.
