Fun Stuff

Trivia:
Alan Thicke had hosted a very popular Canadian talk show for many years when he was invited to host this series, which was one of the first serious attempts to beat "The Tonight Show" at its own game. The series received so much extensive pre-publicity that it led some critics to nickname the show "Sick of the Hype". The Tonight Show went on the offensive, warning performers that an appearance on Thicke's show would result in them not being invited to appear on Tonight. Ultimately, Thicke of the Night was an expensive and embarrassing failure for the network. more
Quotes:
Alan Thicke: We are very sorry to hear about the death of your father.
Himself (Carradine, Keith): My father is still alive.
Alan Thicke: Oh? How is he?

This was a show for intelligent TV viewers, 13 June 2003
Author: William (wmattifo) from Lubbock, TX

This show was ahead of its time and featured some brilliant comedy. Belzer was Alan Thicke's co-host, and their banter was quite witty. The show did poorly in the ratings and didn't last long. But it took chances and made an impression on many young people. There was a Beatles' sketch that was pretty well known. You have to remember there was no Comedy Central, or original programming on HBO to nurture creative minds like those in this show. If this show had started on Comedy Central it would have been a huge hit.
