Dark Knight Rises First TV Spot During American Idol

Hey, America!  Did you know that there is a film coming to theatres this summer called The Dark Knight Rises?  You didn’t?  Well, it’s a damn good thing you have an internet machine in your home or office, so you can keep up to speed on these sorts of things.  Because if you’re anything like me, watching American Idol is an activity that will make you want a long, hot shower, and who has the time for those?

Yes, during this evening’s season finale of Fox’s big Star Search rip-off (don’t worry, I won’t spoil who won)(because, really, they’re all winners), Warner Brothers Studios aired the first TV commercial for their forthcoming, there’s-no-way-it’ll-beat-Avengers-blockbuster.  And now you can watch it right here!  And you will or suffer the consequences!

'Duets' John Legend on his 'Star Search' rejection and Obama's gay marriage stance

Though John Legend is starring in "Duets," a new singing competition show on ABC, the Grammy-winning artist tells Zap2It he was actually turned down by another show as a child. 

"I sang at this local 'Star Search' competition at this mall that was opening in my home area," Legend says at a press conference Thursday (May 17). "I won the local competition and winning meant you got a $500 shopping spree at the mall, and you got to submit your tape to Ed McMahon. So, I got that far, but after that I didn't make it any further. And you know, like 12 years later I got a record deal."

Despite his first failed mission, the musician admits he may have tried again to be on television had the opportunity been presented.

LeAnn Rimes talks about possibly being an ‘X-Factor’ judge

HollywoodNews.com: Fans are wondering who will be replacing Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger as ‘X-Factor’ judges, and it seems LeAnn Rimes is the newest name to be thrown around.

There has been a new rumor going around that she is interested in the role, and it sounds like it isn’t something she would turn down, states E! News. “There are a lot of unknowns, but I’m always open. Always open to many, many different things,” Rimes commented.

And, it sounds like she may have what it takes to relate to and work with the contestants: “I was a kid on ‘Star Search’ when I was eight. I obviously have an 18-year career in this business.”

Updated: The latest name thrown in the ring for an X Factor judges spot: Singer LeAnn Rimes.

Sources say Rimes is interested in joining the Fox reality hit, with one source adding that she’s met with Factor co-producer FremantleMedia North America about the gig.

X Factor chief Simon Cowell is seeking to fill the judges panel spots vacated by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger before the second season starts production later this year. Sources say he’ll most likely hire two female talents to join himself and music producer L.A. Reid for a gender-balanced panel.

Oprah's South African School Graduates Its First Class

An emotional and proud Oprah Winfrey celebrated the first graduating class of The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa on Saturday.
