“And I want some ‘ha ha ha’s here…”

For our June edition, The Flickering Myth Movie Show decided to visit London McM Comic Con. Because we can. And we’re slightly (ok, very) obsessed with Willa Holland (Thea Queen from Arrow).

Not only did we get a chance to talk to her…we also chased down Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Iain de Caestecker (Leo Fitz) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter), the director and producer duo of The Death of Superman Lives! What Happened? Jon Schnepp and Holly Payne and super YouTuber Tomska.

But Wait – There’S More!

Like, ‘Faust from ItsSuperEffective’ more, talking comic books, Captain America: Civil War and hipster Joker from Suicide Squad; ‘James Tarpey from Robot Overlords‘ more, picking his movies of the month (there’s lots of Jurassic World chat) and working with Gillian Anderson; and, finally, ‘MusicalBethan’ more, doing that cup thing from Pitch Perfect. »

Wamg Interview: Elizabeth Shepherd – Co-starred with Vincent Price in Tomb Of Ligeia

27 May 2015 5:59 PM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

British actress Elizabeth Shepherd is best known for her dual performance as the strong-willed Lady Rowena and the ghostly Lady Ligeia opposite Vincent Price in director Roger Corman’s The Tomb Of Ligeia in 1965. Ms Shepherd has enjoyed a long career in movies and in British television since 1959 and her most recent big screen role was as Hillary Swank’s mother-in-law in the 2008 Amelia Earhart biography Amelia. However, it’s the stage is where she most loves to perform and that’s where we caught up with her for this interview as she was preparing for her role in an upcoming production of the play Pygmalion in Houston. We had invited Ms Shepherd to be a guest of honor at Vincentennial, the Vincent Price 100th Birthday Celebration in May of 2011 here in Price’s hometown of St. Louis, but she had committed to the play and was unable to accept our invitation. »

Happy Birthday Vincent Price! A Look Back at Vincentennial

27 May 2015 5:35 PM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Today is Vincent Price’s 104th Birthday! Price was born here in St. Louis on this date in 1911 and is the most iconic movie star to hail from our city. Price, who died October 25th 1993, was also a gourmand, author, stage actor, speaker, world-class art collector, raconteur, and all-around Renaissance man. Vincent Price was simply one of the most remarkable people of the 20th Century. Four years ago we had the opportunity to celebrate his 100th birthday and St. Louis was the place to do it. I teamed up with Cinema St. Louis to present Vincentennial, The Vincent Price 100th Birthday Celebration, an event that lasted through much of the Spring of 2011. The following year Vincentennial won two coveted Rondo Awards, one for “Best Fan Event” and a second for myself as “Monster Kid of the Year” for directing the event. The Rondo Awards are prestigious Fan Awards given out »

Ian Ogilvy in his latest film, "We Still Kill the Old Way", now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

Ian Ogilvy: Saints, Sorcerers and Secret Agents

Cinema Retro's Mark Mawston recently caught up with the legendary Ian Ogilvy to discuss projects past and present.

Mark Mawston: Ian, your film career began in the mid 60’s with The She Beast, directed by Michael Reeves. You had a great relationship with him. How did that come about?

Ian Ogilvy: Well, when we were 15 years old we made a couple of amateur movies together after we were introduced by a mutual friend and we became great friends. I used to stay at his mother’s house with him in Norfolk and over two years we made these two little amateur movies. Angora Sweaters and Scissorhands: Ranking the Films of Tim Burton

13 January 2015 9:05 AM, PST | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Tim Burton is perhaps one of the most unique and exciting filmmakers working today. With a vision inspired by classic horror and a dry wit, his films are often fiercely entertaining and endlessly clever. Of course, that’s not to say that there aren’t dark spots on his filmography. Like every filmmaker he’s had his missteps but even when the movies don’t quite work Burton manages to create films that are visually stunning and artistic. With the recent release of Big Eyes and a possible sequel to Beetlejuice in the works, examining Burton’s work and influence is more important than ever.

17. Planet of the Apes (2001): Even when a Burton film has issues there are usually some redeeming factors (see Darks Shadows’ amazing style) but, oh man, one really has to look hard to find something good in this disaster of a movie. Sure, the makeup »

Marvelous DA7E 77: Ant-Man and Daredevil Kick-Start 2015

7 January 2015 11:27 AM, PST | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Welcome To Issue 77!

If This Is Your First Time Here: Welcome! This is my weekly column where I talk about superhero movie news, rumors and speculation.

This Week: New Ant-Man trailer! New Daredevil details! New Composers and a kickoff to Marvel's victory lap year.

It’s the first week of a big year and Marvel’s been throwing down a bunch of stuff, knowing damn well this is the last year of them being on top of the default superhero mega franchise pile. Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad are representing DC’s big launch into the game next year and both of them are crossover movies in the sense that they’ll be featuring well known characters from different DC Comics. Fox just took hold of 2016 for the X-Men, adding Gambit to 2016’s Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse to take a grand total of Three installments in the year. »
