Trivia

According to an interview he gave to Irish television programme 'The Late Late Show'. when William Shatner was first filming the series autograph hunters asked him why Captain Kirk was dressed as a policeman? Once it began to air they insisted he sign their autographs as TJ Hooker. Shatner stated this brought home to him the power television could wield over its audience. See more »

Goofs

Throughout the run of the series, Hooker has destroyed his cruiser at least a dozen times, but when he gets a new cruiser, it's always serial number 49357. Once a cruiser is destroyed, the serial number would not be reused. See more »

Sgt. T.J. Hooker: T.J. Hooker is the name. But you don't have to lose any sleep wondering what the T.J. stands for, as far as you're concerned, my first name is 'Sergeant'.

Hooker was exemplary of cop shows of the era. I like to think that Boomtown has what Hooker might've been if Hooker was made now.

Sure they were car chases in the series and dodgy plots but overall the show was enticing and interesting. Hooker was a cop who cared (even if he seemed to have ex-girlfriends popping out of the woodwork after series 3) I started watching it when Five (in the UK) showed it in 2002 and was...hooked. I have it on DVD now. I prefer the short first series and the second series. After series 3 (as in series' 4&5) the show lost part of its way not helped by a decreasing budget and ended minus Adrian Zmed in 1986.

A great cop show and up there with the likes of Miami Vice and what have you
