Rocky III: Just In Case you Forgot How Awesome Clubber Lang Was

18 March 2017 3:00 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

As a child I think I saw Rocky III over 100 times.  In fact I think it’s the only movie in my life I may have realistically reached the century mark with.  I think it’s because we just got a new Vcr and I was obsessed with watching movies on tape.  When you’re a kid the allure of Rocky III is to watch Rocky himself.  It’s to see him defy the odds to wax the likes of Thunderlips (Hulk Hogan) and Clubber Lang (Mr. T).   And frankly that’s just wonderful.  I loved it as a kid and I love it

Sylvester Stallone Shares How Dangerous his Diet was For Rocky III

13 March 2017 2:30 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

While I’d rather not get into too much body analysis, if you had to pick a Rocky where Sylvester Stallone has the best body it comes down to Rocky III and Rocky IV, hands down.   While in Rocky IV he’s a little more jacked and “muscular,” Sylvester Stallone is obscenely shredded in Rocky III.  I mean it’s the the point of nausea.   Looking at him you might think his body fat is in negative territory if that were even possible.  Turns out that the lengths Sly went to achieve that physique were not only extreme, but incredibly dangerous. Stallone recently

Hulk Hogan Sent Three Stuntmen to Hospital Playing Thunderlips in Rocky III

9 March 2017 11:00 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

I think we can all agree that Ivan Drago is far and away the greatest villain in all of the Rocky movies.   Mr. T’s Clubber Lang is a very close second.  Don’t get me wrong, Apollo’s Independence day outfit in Rocky and his smear campaign from Rocky II are amazing but it’s hard to even consider Apollo a villain when the two eventually became friends and were truly linked from the beginning.   But there’s another pseudo villain in the Rocky films that everyone loves:  Thunderlips.  Played by Hulk Hogan, Thunderlips is a professional wrestler who’s been commissioned to do a

Listen to Apollo Creed when he Says, “There is no Tomorrow”

6 March 2017 2:33 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

When you’re done fantasizing about having a body as perfect as Apollo’s in Rocky III have a listen to perhaps one of his best lines of the movie:  “There is no tomorrow.”  While Rocky III consisted of an endless barrage of unintentionally hilarious lines and plots (“Hey Rocky, come meet the boys”) this was one line that has actually stuck with me through the years.  It’s about as simple a line as they come but is a perfect motto to live by. “There is no tomorrow.”  It’s not much different than “Carpe Diem” only it’s a little more modern.  But

2017 Golden Globes: Suck-Ups, Movie Stars and Meryl Streep in Rage Mode

9 January 2017 7:23 AM, PST | Rollingstone.com | See recent Rolling Stone news »

Here's to the Golden Globes – what other award show would bring Meryl Streep onstage for a lifetime-achievement tribute and then have the orchestra salute her with Abba's "Mamma Mia"? A perfect moment to sum up everything the Globes stand for: finding the cheese lining in any artistic cloud. That's the saving grace of this dippiest and drunkest of award shows. Nobody cares who wins; all that matters at this TV party is locking the stars up together in the Beverly Hills Hilton, getting them ripped on free booze and »
