Leave it to the hammer to come up with a line like that. The man is known for unexpected humor. Not bad little boxing flick that's dedicated to the memory of Salvador Sanchez, who died in a car crash on August 12, 1982, shortly after this movie was completed. Starring that well known salsa singer Ruben Blades, this is a down and dirty rumble in the Bronx affair. It moves at a face pace and rarely slows down, not to mention we get another cameo from Joe Spinell as a mob boss who's pulling Willie Colon's strings when it comes to dominating Blades' matches. When things go sour, you guessed it, the hammer springs into action and the barrio war begins. Great score by Jay Chattaway including salsa and disco music on the soundtrack.
Score, 6 out of 10 Stars
