  • (Deleted. Personal opinions about ratings are not appropriate for the Parents Guide.)

Violence & Gore

  • Mild violence.
  • A man cuts himself and draws blood to make falsely accuse someone else of having attacked him

  • The scene where Gloucester's eyes are ripped out is disturbing and intense, but not realistic or graphic in this production.
  • The ending is very intense and sad. Regan is poisoned by her sister. Edgar kills Edmund in a duel. Goneril commits suicide. Cordelia is lynched off screen. Lear dies of grief, holding his dead daughter in his arms. Not graphic, but this is definitely an intense play overall.
