Hard to imagine in these sequel-infested times that it took over a
decade for a follow-up to Gerard Damiano's seminal DEVIL IN MISS JONES
to materialize. An even bigger surprise is that this second installment
matches its illustrious predecessor every step of the way. Director Ron
Sullivan (a/k/a "Henri Pachard") exchanged Damiano's brooding
existentialism for a far more lighthearted tone, gently poking fun at
without ridiculing the sacred cow whose footsteps it followed.
Justine Jones (a welcome return of seasoned Georgina Spelvin) has been
in hell for quite some time now and is none too thrilled about it,
especially since Lucifer (gay porn legend Jack Wrangler from Joe Gage's
KANSAS CITY TRUCKING CO.) and the Devil's Advocate (Robert Kerman a/k/a
"R. Bolla") have ordered a ban on orgasms. While there's unlimited
shagging wherever you look, no one's allowed to climax. Every time
someone's on the brink of coming, head office is alerted and the
offender has to answer for his or her illegal actions ! This crisis
forces Justine to get off in unusual ways, like humping the sizable
proboscis of Cyrano De Bergerac (Alan Adrian), producing an image that
must have inspired the prosthetic sex epics of Paul Norman (EDWARD
PENISHANDS). By employing her feminine wiles, Miss Jones seduces the
reluctant Lucifer ("Don't call me Lucy !") and blackmails him into
sending her back to earth in another body. Candidate recipients for
Justine's wicked soul include call girl Roxanne (fiery redhead
Jacqueline Lorians), bumbling girl soldier Private Parts (Joanna Storm)
and an outwardly prim 'n' proper Tupperware saleslady (Anna Ventura,
one of Svetlana's original BAD GIRLS). Nun Samantha Fox is briefly
considered but quickly nixed when the Big Guy Upstairs has his say
about it ! Sullivan's finest films all have the advantage of genuine
wit, never slipping into vulgarity. This diabolical screwball comedy
proves no exception. Inspired dialog, filled with naughty double
entendres, is delivered in rapid fire fashion. This enhances the
pleasure to be derived from this first rate sex farce with subtle
references to Hollywood classics like HERE COMES MR. JORDAN and (the
Lubitsch version of) HEAVEN CAN WAIT. The uniformly splendid cast is up
to the task. Spelvin's always great to see (the years had been kind) at
the sunset of her explicit career, though she's not in the movie that
much. Most of it rests on the strong shoulders of Wrangler whose wryly
funny characterization of the constantly bewildered devil even
overshadows Kerman's deliciously devious turn as his mischievous
adviser and this is one actor unaccustomed to being surpassed. Sharons
Kane and Mitchell appear in the infernal interlinking segments, Kane as
a giggling harpy with literal dick head Ron Jeremy and Mitch looking
positively radiant as Marie-Antoinette, even though her Egyptian
profile suggests a perfect Cleopatra, played here by Deena Ferrara
instead.
Sex simmers pleasantly from start to finish, nothing too hot 'n' heavy,
mind you, yet perfect for the friskier contingent of the couples crowd.
Spelvin once again shows how it should be done in her one big scene
with the perplexed horned (and horny) one. The glowing cinematography
by erstwhile Chuck Vincent protégé Larry Revene a highly competent
director in his own right as evidenced by WANDA WHIPS WALL STREET and
RAW TALENT complements the heady brew of lust and laughter, making
the most out of deliberately grotesque set design reminiscent of the
visual overkill in Fellini's kitsch classic SATYRICON.

Better than the first movie, but not all that good as they seem to forget there is supposed to be sex in an adult film., 28 April 2009

Yes, this movie is a slight improvement on the original as there are a couple of cute girls here and there. However, you will not be seeing very well done sex scenes in this porno, instead the movie is more of a comedy and the sex scenes for the most part are very underdeveloped. The movie is still better though than one as one had a unpleasant feel to it and just made me feel yucky. This one does not do that...granted it also does not excite or turn me on either which is what an adult film should be doing now is it not? There is one scene involving a cute gal who apparently sells household products and has very pretty eyes. I think there is about to be a great sex scene and instead I get maybe a two minute scene max. I do not really like the porno movies that are just sex scene after sex scene with no real development or lead up, but I prefer them to this type of film that is mainly all lead up and no real payoff. I understand you want to have plot too, but I have seen plots in porn where there is still really good sex like in the Little Girls Blue and to a lesser extent Debbie Does Dallas. These Devil in Miss Jones movies just do not appeal to me or to the bad boy I was who found their dad's dirty movie collection.

A worthy sequel to a classic film, 26 October 2006

Henri Pachard (best known for Babylon Pink) takes the reigns from
Gerard Damiano for this sequel. This film relies mainly on comedy,
unlike its predecessor. Fortunately, the film is genuinely funny and
contains many memorable, funny lines. The comedy can take away some of
the sexiness from various scenes as they can become a joke. There is
however many varied scenarios (set mainly in the 'real world'). Some of
these scenarios include: a Female soldier pleasuring the captain and a
high priced call-girl pleasuring a Sheik.
The film also features more of a fantasy element than the first film.
DMJ1 took place in the real world until Miss Jones was summoned to
purgatory/hell. This film obviously takes place in hell from the start
and features many strange historic figures including: Cyrano (with a
penis for a nose), Cleopatra and Marie Antoinette. The sets could be
accused of looking tacky but they do not look any worse than other
films from around the same era such as, Flash Gordon.
The acting in the film is of a high standard. Jack Wrangler does a
superb job of portraying a charismatic and troubled Lucifer. The female
cast and male supporting cast deliver lines professionally and
convincingly portray their characters. It is also nice to see Georgina
Spelvin return for this sequel but it has to be said that she looks a
fair bit older than in the previous film.
Summary: A good sequel which manages to be different from its
predecessor. This film features some great acting and lots of funny
moments. The sex scenes are interesting and varied but seem to take
second place to the story and (comedy) dialogue. Henri Pachard has done
a great job with the directing and co-writing of this film. A must see
for classic XXX fans or people looking for an erotic film which is a
bit different.

Great fun., 23 August 2010

Surprisingly enough I had great fun watching this movie. It's
definitely more entertaining than the first movie and also has some
higher production values but in the long run the movie is till being
somewhat overlong.
This movie really is a direct, late, sequel to the 1973 genre classic
"Devil in Miss Jones". It even features the same actress, Georgina
Spelvin, in the lead again. She was now 9 years older and had obviously
gained some more experience in the business. Back in 1973 she was still
new and fresh to it all but in this movie she is taking things more
from a professional approach and also spend some more time on her
acting performance this time. But she was already well in her 40's at
the time so her role is being cut a little short this time and she soon
has to make some room for younger ladies. They did this in a quite good
and creative way, when the devil herself sends her back to earth and
she is forced to live in the bodies of several different and younger
women, who of course very soon all get involved in all kinds of
different sexual acts.
It was nice to see how 'serious' they approached this movie. They had
obviously spend some time on writing a decent script and the movie did
not just got shot at someone's back-room. They actually went to the
trouble to make some costumes and sets for this movie. Nothing too
impressive but it's all nevertheless still better and more expensive
looking than the first movie. This movie is really a movie, which at
times even goes at the expense of the sex sequences. I can definitely
say that this movie has more story than sex this time.
I'm not saying that this movie is being anything brilliant but for
within its genre it's simply a great one nevertheless. You really have
to see these sort of movies in their perspective. You have to
appreciate this movie for taking a real cinematic approach and tries to
be more than just another average porn-flick.
But it's not as if the movie doesn't know that its not being much good
as a movie. Even though it takes a more serious cinematic approach of
things, that doesn't mean that the movie is taking itself serious as
well. And this is what makes the movie so much fun to watch. It's a
movie with plenty of humor and deliberately silly moments and
characters in it. I won't lie, I enjoyed the movie quite a lot. The
only complained is that it went on for too long. It started to drag and
could had easily been cut down 10 minutes or so.
Guess that if you're really looking for some porn that this movie isn't
going to be much good for you. In that regard the first movie was a
better one. In this movie there are really not that many porn sequences
and the ones that are in it are basically constantly more of the same,
over and over again. It's also nothing too spectacular or exciting
really.
A movie that is surprisingly fun and good to watch.

The first DMJ was a classic movie...a really thought provoking artistic
acheivement ..well not really it was after all just a porno but it was
made
alot better than porno should have been made but DMJ II...this is just a
lotion movie..if you get what I mean..the women of course look lovely and
the sex action is erotic..and hillarious the scene between Jack Wrangler
and
Georgina Spelvin (who looks LOVELY) had me on the ground laughing as well
as
the scene between Jacqueline Lorians and Bobby Astyr..now thats
entertainment..but the humor almost seems..strange when the first one was
such a strange and horrific tale of lust and horror. I guess this is the
Evil Dead II of porno..so enjoy it for what it is..and don't forget to
clean
up

An improvement on the original, which isn't saying much., 12 July 2002

The sequel to the revolting Devil in Miss Jones really isn't all that bad.
Many scenes work quite well, and the more unpleasant elements of the first
film are nowhere to be found.
Though Pachard's visual style isn't anything terribly special, it's on a
level with many respectable films of the same period. The use of special
effects is unusually well-handled for a pornographic film from 1982, and
the
makeup is a noticeable improvement over the original.
As it turns out, Georgina Spelvin isn't nearly as ugly as she looked in
the first movie. The performances in this film are average for the most
part. Their are no really aggravating moments, but not many truly inspired
moments either. Joanna Storm's small role as a young soldier is
impressive,
but no other actors stand out.
Even though the film gets points for not being as bad as its predecessor,
it's still a very limited picture with no real ambition.

So Here We Have The Sequel To The Original DMJ. This Comical Yet Crude
Porno Has It's Ups and Downs As Justine Jones Goes In And Out Of Hell
To Have Live A Life Consumed & Engulfed By Lust. Justine Sleeps With
Devil, Devil Sends Justine Back To Earth To Live Forever As A Call-Girl
Named Roxanne. After A Few Customers Come-A-Calling, Devil Gets Jealous
and Switchs Justine To Another Body, Pvt. Parts. Pvt. Parts Gives The
Army Something To Salute as She Makes An Example Of Her Commanding
Officer. Devil Gets Jealous Again and Puts Justine In The Body Of A
Tupper-Ware Lady. Soon This Harmless Girl Is Selling Plastic Sexy Toys
and Goes Wild On A Male Customer and Pleases Him With Her New Toys.
Devil Gets Angry and Puts Justine In A Nun. Nun Is About To Get Temped,
But Stopped By "The Light". Devil and St. Peter Argue and Agree To Put
Justine Back In Roxanne. Roxanne Then Pleases Customer Looking For Love
and Compares Him To Devil. Devil Leaves Hell For Justine and That's It.
For The Good, To See Ron Jeremy In This Movie Was Funny. What's An
Eighties Porno Movie Without Ron Jeremy? It Was Great To See The Plot
Go In Different Direction Than In The Original, But The Original Is A
Superior Movie Than This. And Seeing Joey Silvera in Action With
Roxanne Was Great.
For The Bad, It Was Very Distastful To Have Justine In The Body Of The
Nun, and Worse, To Give Her Temptations Of The Flesh, Not Good. The Use
Of St. Peter Is Also Not A Good Thing For Movies Like This. I Feel That
THE Line Was Crossed Here. Anything Else Would Have Been A Better Idea
Instead Of The Religion Angle.
All in All, This Is A Good Sequel To A Superior Movie, But The Whole
Religious Angle Toward The End Made Me Give This Movie A Lower Rating
Than What I Normally Rate. 6/10
