Each week Matt Houston, a successful private investigator, takes on a new case. The cases usually involve murder, and always involve beautiful women in skimpy outfits. Drawing on his years of experience and investigative skills, and with a little help from his assistant, C.J., Houston always manages to bring the bad guys (or girls) to justice. Written by

I'm not sure which came first, but I will hazard a guess that MATT HOUSTON was parodying MAGNUM P.I. Horsley was a poor man's Tom Selleck as a P.I. dealing with less-than-sensational cases played out in MATLOCK/MURDER SHE WROTE style. Horsley was a big lumbering hunk of a guy who went onto much greater (non)fame as Prince Talon in 1982's funky THE SWORD AND THE SORCEROR, wherein he wore enough leather and fur to outfit an entire army. Not as much fun to watch as MAGNUM, but certainly passable entertainment. The show featured tons of guest stars, most of who were will past their prime, sort of like the guest stars on the original THE LOVE BOAT.
