Devon Miles is arrested on a traffic violation in Lyndhurst Flats and ends up sharing a jail with Frank Reston, the very journalist he was planning to meet. When Reston is killed by the corrupt police officers because he had too much evidence against them, Devon's life becomes forfeit as he was the last one to see Reston alive. Michael teams up with Frank's ex-wife Carol in his search for Devon.

Bonnie is given the honor of joining the Helios society, who's members all have genius level I.Q.'s. This to Devon's chagrin, who was expecting a nomination himself but has to be content with honorary membership. However, it soon becomes clear that high ranking members of the society are planning to ensure their own survival by committing the perfect crime. For this they need to get their hands on Kitt and to get rid of it's driver, Michael Knight.

When computer software is being stolen from Deltron Micronics, Michael is convinced it's an inside job. He and Kitt starts tailing the main suspect, Julian Groves, who is also being followed by female detective Flannery Roe on account of adultery.

Michael picks up a hitchhiker who's looking for her daughter. When he defends her from a couple of bikers from the Satan's Stompers motorcycle club, he ends up charged with second degree murder himself.

Wilton Knight's estranged son Garthe has returned from Africa where he had been sentenced to three lifetime imprisonments. Together with his mother Elizabeth (Wilton's fourth wife) he manages to steal the formula to Kitt's Molecular Bonded Shell and applies it to a monster truck he calls Goliath. Garthe then sets out to destroy Michael Knight, the man he feels his father gave everything to that was rightfully his.
When his car is badly damaged in a collision with Goliath, Michael must repair it before being overcome by the heat of the desert.

Michael Knight helps to break a criminal out of jail against his wishes in order to halt the detonation of a Minotaur bomb. When the escapee refuses to cooperate, Knight and Kitt become fugitives of the law themselves.

Amelia Clermont, a former lover of Devon Miles, stumbles upon some stolen Sledgehammer missile that can only be fired from the SX4-11 helicopter and promptly disappears. Her daughter Camela turns the Foundation and Devon, who puts Michael and Kitt on the case.

On their way to pick up a tux for the annual Foundation Christmas banquet, Michael and Kitt run into a gypsy kid named Tino who has just stolen a gold watch from a trio of bank robbers. Michael promises Tino's sister Marta to bring the boy to their uncle Stephano, self proclaimed king of the gypsies. But they are unaware the bank robbers, afraid of being identified by the boy, are on their trail.

The masterminds behind his escape, David Halston and Margo Sheridan, are gathering a team to stage a break into a San Francisco vault. Michael and Devon ask Bonnie, who is studying at the university there to help them on this case. Her mentor at the university just happens to be David Halston.

As she happens to be the daughter of Michael former partner on the L.A. police force, he decides to investigate. It soon leads him and K.I.T.T. to the owner of Michael's favorite football team, the Cougars.

Bonnie has just moved into a new apartment. Next door a rowdy party is going on two days before Halloween. She appears to witness a woman being strangled by someone wearing a gorilla costume but passes out. When Bonnie calls in help from the Foundation, at first it all seems to have been a fever induced hallucination on her part. Is it all in her mind or will Bonnie be the next victim come Halloween?

K.I.T.T.'s bad tempered prototype K.A.R.R. is found buried in the sand by mechanic John Stanton and his girlfriend Mandy. K.A.R.R. convinces Stanton to replace his damaged parts and give him a new look. Then he sets out to take his revenge on K.I.T.T. and Michael Knight. After turbo boosting into the Foundation's semi, John and K.A.R.R. take possession of an improved laser Bonnie was preparing for K.I.T.T. to use against his evil twin.

Michael is suspended from FLAG after a bag of heroine is found in his pocket. He contacts the main suspect he was after, LaSalle, in an attempt to clear his name. However, LaSalle orders Knight to steal K.I.T.T. from the Foundation and use him to steal a dangerous nerve-gas.

While Michael Knight and K.I.T.T. are on a case to stop the sale of deadly chemicals, a young dancer is inadvertently killed by toxic gas. Michael becomes determined to capture the criminals behind this new poison, but they are equally adamant to get rid of Knight by feeding him their deadly concoction.

An acquaintance from a previous case, Maxine Flemming, loses her race horse King Jack after an accident. However, Michael soon surmises that the horse hasn't been shot as Maxine was led to believe, but being put is up for sale by her partner Tommy Lee to pay of his gambling debts.

While on the trail of toxic polluter "Acid" John Birock, K.I.T.T. ends up in a pit filled with acid and is all but destroyed. The car has to be rebuild from scratch by the original design team consisting of Dr. Von Voorman, Dr Breland and Dr. Numata. But once reassembled, the world's most sophisticated car seems to have lost it's nerves.

Michael joins Circus Major as Turbo Man after one of its stars meets with foul play on the trapeze. K.I.T.T. helps him perform death defying stunts as Turbo Man's 'talking flying carpet'.

The Foundation has accidentally developed a powerful new isotope, Cernium 116. Jennifer Knight, Wilton's daughter takes this opportunity to cut down on FLAG expenses. Rebuild terrorist Phillip Nordstrom kidnaps Devon and replaces him with a duplicate in order to extract the secret of K.I.T.T.'s Molecular Bonded Shell. Having found a way to neutralize it, Nordstrom unleashes his own super vehicle, the Juggernaut on an unsuspecting K.I.T.T. Without any resources to fall back on, Bonnie enlists the help from Chicaco crime fighter the Street Avenger (aka RC3) to help rebuild K.I.T.T. and give him a few new extras.
Season 4, Episode 3: KITTnap27 September 1985
Jeff Cavanaugh, another crook arrested by Michael in a previous but unseen adventure, escapes from jail with help Julian Martin. Fearing FLAG is on his tail, Julian decides to kidnap Mike's latest flame Karen and also gets his hands on K.I.T.T.

On her way to her sisters wedding in Boston, Bonnie's plane is high-jacked by the New Dawn Movement. It's leader, Charles Zurich plans to trade his hostages for 197 prison inmates and forces the plane to land at a military base housing a project known as Deep Sleep.

An archaeologist being sponsored by FLAG is kidnapped after finding proof positive that a piece of land belongs to a tribe of Indians. Not surprisingly, a business man who wants to drill oil in the same area is the culprit.

A gang of bikers with a knack for high-jacking semi's gets hold of the FLAG mobile headquarters by accident. With the help of a young computer whiz they use the Foundation equipment to rob a bank, then set their sights on an experimental new vehicle called the Ferret.

The entire roster of FLAG personnel goes undercover to stop an American diplomat from selling a biological weapon to 'The Hammer of the Desert'. K.I.T.T. is disguised as a '55 Lynx Imperial racing car they plan to offer for sale. RC3 poses as the middle man, Bonnie as the seller, 'Alicia Craven-Hall'. Michael pretends to be hired killer Johnny Hajeck and even Devon joins in, playing the part of a newsreader.

Michael is celebrating his fourth 'birthday' as a new man when Devon recruits him for a mission to find a stolen experimental hovercraft with great destructive power.

Although Devon would rather have Michael on a Rembrandt forgery case in Philadelphia, he allows him to help a mechanic friend of Bonnie's, Elena Thomas, who's facing sabotage on the racetrack. Since Elena's top driver has been killed in an accident apparently caused by her faultiness, Michael volunteers to take the man's place.

FLAG architect Matt Erickson is the victim of a pickpocket at his own party that Bonnie & Michael are attending. The thieves turn out to be two female prisoners let out by their scheming warden to test their abilities for a big heist. After Michael and K.I.T.T. track down both suspects to their solitary cells at the prison, Bonnie goes undercover as an inmate at the penitentiary in question.

Michael, RC and even Bonnie use K.I.T.T. as an alibi to visit Chicago instead of doing a mission in Detroit. RC wants to catch blind singer Charley Conner's performance at his old friend Josh Bevin's bar. But Bevins' is on the receiving end of a beating by some thugs hired by construction overseer E.G. Sanford. To complicate matters, RC refuses to believe that his childhood friend and hero Keith is leading the enforcers. Meanwhile K.I.T.T. hooks up with a bunch of kids who show considerable music talent and decides to coach them, despite the fact that the car is quite tone-deaf.

Michael suspects that magician Austin Templeton could be the assassin, using his magic act as an alibi in each case. Bonnie disagrees, for she has fallen for the self proclaimed sorcerer's charms.

Michael and RC arrive in San Duarte just in time to see Mount Duarte erupt for the first time since 1874. With the lava flow blocking the way in and out of the country, Colonel Perata stages a coup and holds American advisor Harrison and his wife hostage. Michael joins local news reporter and guerrilla leader Lisa Corrales in her fight to reinstate democratic President Sosa.
