This particular animated incarnation of Dr. Octopus first appeared in the solo Spider-Man (1981) series voiced by Stan Jones. After his appearance in this cartoon, he next appeared in the third season of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (1981) and to reinforce continuity, he was again voiced by Michael Bell.
