Tomislav is a former Partizan who continues his struggle after the war as a dedicated member of Tito's secret police. He meets and falls in love with a ballet dancer from a bourgeois family. His love affair with the class enemy and his slow adaptation to the post-war realities could seal his doom. Written by Dragan Antulov <dragan.antulov@altbbs.fido.hr>
It is strange that such nice film has not got any comment until now... Though I saw it only once and long ago, I would like to see it again. Unfortunately in is not on screen now...The plot of the film is unexpectedly actual for today's Russia ( and I suppose for many post-communist countries). The film is perfect tragedy which provokes thoughts and could not be forgotten. The main character tries to find himself in a rapidly changing situation of post-WWII Yugoslavia. Peaceful time needs different heroes and all his partisan experience is not necessary. One more point is his love to a ballet dancer in, which does not help him to transform, but makes only weaker. The final of the film, when the character commits suicide,is really impressive. Especially, because it is unexpected...The story about the past turns out to be about future. At the same time this is an eternal plot.
