Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Rated PG, but by today's standards would probably be:

PG-13- Some Violent Content, Terror, and Brief Partial Nudity

In the opening scene of the film, a woman is sitting on a bed inside a motel room, strumming a guitar, with the apperance that she is nude behind it. The side of one of her breasts in visible, but not completely. She is then shown from behind and it is possible to see the top part of her bare rear end and the same partially exposed breast, however it's from behind. There is no actual nudity in the whole film.

Violence & Gore

Two actors engage in a fist fight at the end, with one trying to strangle the other. Other than that, there are a few instances where it is believed that a killer is burying people in the desert. As this is supposed to be a thriller film, many moments are set up to be suspensful, but really aren't scary. The only "gory" part comes when a severed head falls into a bucket, but it looks pretty fake and really shouldn't be scary for most viewers.

Profanity

A few uses of 'friggin', and s-o-b. No F-words.

A few instances of people smoking cigarettes and one scene where Jamie Lee Curtis is seen drinking liquor out of the bottle.

As this is meant to be a thriller/semi-horror film, it borrows very much off the Alfred Hitchcock method of building tension. There are some scenes of a man digging what is believed to be graves in the desert, as well as scene where a woman is strangled to death, although you only see the small chord being placed around her neck and not the full act. And a person's severed head falls into a bucket at one point, but it looks very fake and shouldn't be that scary. Mostly, music is used to indicate when a "scary" part is coming up.
