Sex & Nudity

5/10 Implied and slightly intense rape scene mostly offscreen and is seen from a distance. The only thing that implies rape, however, is the fact that you can see her underwear being pulled down very briefly. At 22 min Breasts.

As a large truck drives past a tent the turbulence causes the tent to blow away and expose a man and woman who were having sex, the woman is topless and the scene is played for comedy values as they looked shocked.

Violence & Gore

During a black and white montage of real life news reel footage there is a shot of several policemen beating a man with truncheons/batons.

Wez (Vernon Wells) has an arrow shot through his arm, there is a brief close-up of the arrow in his arm as he pulls it out.

There is a shot of a man's bloodied hand among the wreckage of a crashed vehicle.

As Max (Mel Gibson) opens a door on a truck, a rotten corpse falls out; there is a brief close-up shot of the corpse's face with rotten flesh.

Max threatens the Gyro Captain (Bruce Spence) by placing a knife against his throat.

A man is shot in the chest with an arrow while a woman has her clothes forcibly removed; she is then shot with an arrow.

Max hits a man around the head with a pair of bolt cutters.

A man is punched in the stomach and a rabbit is shot with an arrow; the man is then headbutted.

A man is hit in the head by a razor sharp boomerang, there are a couple of shots of him lying on the ground with a long straight bloody wound across his forehead.

A man is tied to a post/tree and set alight, this is shown from a great distance though.

A dog is shot with an arrow off screen and all that is heard is the dog's whimper. Two men are killed as Max's car explodes and they are caught in it. Max is seen badly injured with a bloodied face.

A man is killed as he falls from his platform onto the road. A man is shot in the side by an arrow. A man is shot in the chest with an arrow while a woman is shot in the chest and stomach by several arrows. She slides onto some barb wire and blood is seen dripping from her mouth.

A man is run over. Max shoots the driver of a car through the windscreen in the head with a shotgun. Blood can be seen splashed across the inside of the windscreen.

A man on a motorbike is dragged under the tires of a large truck.

Max shoots a man through his truck's passenger side window with a shotgun and also shoots a man on the roof by aiming the gun upwards and shooting.

A man has some sort of spiked glove with which he grabs Max's shoulder. Max's bloodied shoulder is seen on several occasions.

Pappagello (Mike Preston) has a three pronged spear thrown into his back.

Wez is holding onto the front of Max's truck and is killed when another car crashes into the truck head on.

Profanity

Infrequent use of mild profanity. A couple of uses of "crap." One very brief use of "bastard," and one half-audible instance of "shit."

Constant action & peril; not as violent as the adult ratings from various countries would suggest but still intense and occasionally brutal.
