Underground Film Links: December 26, 2010

26 December 2010 6:00 AM, PST | Underground Film Journal | See recent Underground Film Journal news »

Welcome to the last Underground Film Links post of 2010. I started this feature this year and it quickly became one of the most popular destinations on the site. Keep those great links coming in 2011!

Squeaking in under the wire, Wreck and Salvage’s Aaron Valdez comes up with the quote of the year, perhaps the quote of the century: “Who the f*** is Stan Brakhage compared to Charlie Chainsaw?” I’ve long felt the same thing, but have failed to put it quite so eloquently. Just to be clear: I am 100% absolutely not kidding. A big, special Bad Lit congrats to Andrea Grover, the new curator at the Parrish Art Museum in Sag Harbor, NY! I totally screwed up and forgot to post the news earlier that the always incredibly awesome Ata Film & Video Festival in San Francisco had a special touring program screen all the way over in Hong Kong earlier this month. »

CBS Cleans House, Cancels Seven

18 May 2010 10:52 AM, PDT | TV.com | See recent TV.com news »

The Grim Reaper walked through the offices of CBS today, swinging his scythe willy-nilly at the network's schedule and ultimately slaughtering more than half a dozen shows. But the angel of cancellation spared two shows, assuring them a spot on the schedule when CBS announces its fall 2010 lineup tomorrow.

Here's what won't be coming back: The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Accidentally on Purpose, Miami Medical, Cold Case, Numb3rs, and Ghost Whisperer. The cancellation of the three comedies leaves a smoldering crater in CBS' schedule where its Wednesday comedy block used...  More >> »

I'm nothing if not a man of my word: I promised you that today I'd tweet which show will feature what I'm 100 percent certain may be one of the most shocking deaths in any of this season's finales, and guess what? Just moments ago, I did just that. In case you missed it, keep reading... The original cast member whose character is getting whacked is on... Private Practice! The Grim Reaper will pay a most unwelcome visit to the Grey's Anatomy spin-off in the May 13 episode. I say most unwelcome as opposed to, you know, just generally unwelcome, because the »

'Smallville' exclusive: Someone is going to [major spoiler alert]!

30 March 2010 3:22 PM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Smallville's ninth season finale will feature a cameo by one of TV's most feared guest stars: The Grim Reaper. Sources confirm to me exclusively that producers of the everlasting superhero saga are planning to kill off a major castmember in the May 14 capper. And if the death of "Jimmy Olsen" last May taught us anything, it's that no one — and I mean no one — is safe on Smallville. Okay, Clark is safe. But everyone else is fair game. A few characters are particularly vulnerable, which is my roundabout way of me saying the victim is listed after the jump! »
