Storyline

Officer Moldovan must solve the case of a robbery. Credit Central Bank was robbed fast and hard by a gang of professionals. MOldovan is trying to catch the man behind Rica Pasarin, the gang leader, by using his brother, who is a pickpocket thief.

Very nice.

Overwhelmed by movies like The Matrix and Star Wars, trained mentally by movies like Fight Club and Minority Report, under the deep era of blockbuster movies, "The Duel" lies carefully on it's place. I am a Romanian, and I am not saying this movie was cool because I'm a patriot, I'm saying it was cool because regardless of lack of fonds and technology, I was actually entertained by it. Being carefully amazed by such gigantic movies like the ones listed above, I actually can say it was a good movie. I had the occasion of being right next to Sergiu Nicolaescu at the premiere of Minority Report. He had done a pretty decent job of directing and acting in this movie. The story is about a bunch of orphans living in a humble house. The suddenly fell into the trap of a gangster dispute because of one of the kid's brother and they are unwillfully involved.

They will help Sergiu Nicolaescu in their battle and because I don't want to give away anything, I'll just tell you this movie made me shiver at some battle scenes and impressed me with the action. No stunts, no speciall effects, just a good ol' classic Romanian movie anybody could enjoy. It's an oldie but goldie to me.

I give it a 7/10
