Very Interesting and Original
gail0217 September 2001
Well, this film is very original, I'll give it that. The entire show is based on a group of doctors and nurses (hmmmm, whatever gave me that tipoff) that go about their daily business. We've got everything an ER soap opera needs: secret romances, snotty would-be richy patrons, escapee patients, clutzy nurses, and even the president of the United States in danger! However, there's a catch.... Every doctor and nurse is a kid! Nobody ever seems to notice this... As a matter of fact, it seems the adults are more "youthful" than the children. Keep in mind that this was made in Aussie :-)...more power to them. It has some wondeful humor, but may bore those of the younger generation. If you can sit through it one time, chances are it'll grow on you. There may be some rather interesting issues, especially where the president and FBI is concerned, that may not go over well with some Americans *especially the use of the words "Goddamn" all the time :~* Anyway, I suggest that, if you can find it, go ahead and check it out. However, I really wouldn't put the extra effort to find it if it's not available.

ER kiddie fare
emm7 November 1998
DOCTORS AND NURSES is a must-see for families who require nothing but wholesome goodness. It's getting hard to look for now, but it's worth the misery. Aussie tykes portray themselves as doctors and nurses who help the sick grown-up patients and they end up in weird complications along the way. A "family" movie is tough to describe nowadays, so call it a comedy instead. It does well for its kind and it has a different satiric approach when compared to serious hospital dramas on TV. Like other "family" movies, the conclusion is always perilous until the day is saved, but it stands out as imaginatively funny. Best feature: the announcer trying his best to yap the entire scroll of its end credits! This is labeled as a "kiddie soap opera". It's worth a find.
