...Technically, this made for television drama IS Demi Moore's first full length venture. Made before and released after her beginnings on 'General Hospital,' Demi DOES shine in a role without sustenance. But if you are looking to this movie JUST for Demi Moore, don't bother. Her part is bit. What you will get out of this film is a decent portrayal of a high school student's real life/turmoil and a beating of the odds. The 80's were so good at that teen angst stuff! John Carluccio is a great kid! Good grades, star football player, he even plays violin! But he also has a hearing impediment-And a new school health advisor doesn't think it is a good idea for him to still be on the team! Thus, John, has to deal with his emotions, parents, coach, teammates, new girlfriend (Moore) and almost slipping with the wrong crowd, before getting the courage to face his demons and the schoolboard. A good flick for a rainy day (Mom would be so pleased to see you are watching a 'wholesome' movie!) GREAT performances all around. Nice filming of the violin and football scenes and some great heartbreaking moments. Plus a cute 18 year old Demi Moore. Awww Shucks! We have a winner!
