Brilliant storytelling!
7 December 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I am surprised this movie has not been reviewed yet. It is so amazing. The portrayal of London in the late 70's and early 80's is so true. Only the second black directed film at the time. Slated to a more chick-flick, or feminist. Total recommend for strong females and gaining an insight in London, and the racial tension. It is such an unique love story. The costume design (fashion) was amazing too. The vision the director tried to portray is quite parallel to Pressure by Horace Ove. But overall we see a young black woman maturing more into an independent lady this is contrasted by the reality she is living and what she envisions for herself. Effectively showing rocky situations can easily be for better. It's worth a watch!8/10
