Begining with episode 14, "Make Room For Uncle Buster" (29 October 1981) the title changed to "Harper Valley," dropping the P.T.A. from the title and the concept.

Originally, this was going to be a one-hour comedy. The format was shortened to just half an hour when it went into production.

Originally scheduled for September, 1980, airing on Tuesdays, but because of a writers' strike, the show didn't go into production until November, 1980, and didn't begin airing until 16 January 1981 on NBC TV.
