The year is officially over: the 2011 United State of Pop (World Go Boom) mash-up has arrived! Produced by Jordan Roseman, aka DJ Earworm, this year’s edition features snippets of Billboard's top 25 songs on the year including Maroon5’s  “Moves Like Jagger,” Katy Perry’s “E.T.,” Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks,” Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” and, of course, Adele’s  “Rolling In The Deep” and Lmfao’s “Party Rock Anthem.” This year's bed is built around (and takes its name from)  Perry's "Firework." Katy Perry Shows Off Sexy Curves in Bikini During Holiday Vacation

27 December 2011 12:56 AM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Katy Perry flaunted her hot body while playfully enjoying the ocean waves in Kauai, Hawaii on Sunday, December 25. In photos taken from the spot, the 'E.T.' hitmaker was seen donning a plunging halter top, which showed her cleavage, and a pair of matching bikini bottoms.

The 27-year-old singer reportedly stayed during the holiday with her hubby Russell Brand, but he's not seen anywhere near her the day when the pictures were taken. Instead, the singer was seen with Markus Molinari among other friends. Hiding her hair under a black bucket hat, she's snapped relaxing under the sunlight.

An onlooker reported about Katy and Russell stayed in a private villa during the getaway. The source said, "Katy and Russell looked very happy when they stepped off their private plane in Kauai before Christmas weekend."

Maahin’s Top Ten Films of 2011

26 December 2011 12:38 PM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

My top ten films of the year was such a difficult list to make. I knew a lot of films that would go on the list, more than ten in fact. But putting them in order was tough. This list doesn’t include films I’ve seen that come out in January/February, like Shame, which would feature high, and also excludes releases from the past Jan/Feb that were up for awards this year. And I haven’t watched Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo at the time of writing this, but I have a feeling it could have made the list.

The Artist

Easily the most joyous film I’ve seen this year. I imagine it’ll top a lot of lists, and it deserves to. I can’t really say a thing about it I didn’t like. Weekend

Another film difficult to fault. I »

The Hardest Working And Laziest Pop Stars Of 2011

23 December 2011 4:00 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

By Sterling Wong

"She works hard for the money," Donna Summer once sang, and just as it was the case in 1983, pop stars these days have to work their butts off to earn those album purchases, downloads and concert ticket sales in this age of YouTube, X-Box and Angry Birds.

But while some singers identify with the Protestant work ethic espoused by Donna, there are others who, as Bruno Mars puts it, “don’t feel like doing anything [and] just wanna lay in my bed.” And it’s not always only those who are hardworking who find success, as the popularity of Bruno proves. Sometimes you can have your cake and eat it.

So, who’s working hard and who’s not? In the spirit of Christmas, we decided to put together a pop star naughty and nice list for Santa.

Wanna Watch Two Teaser Trailers for the Teaser Trailer for 'Prometheus?' (Yes, Really)

20 December 2011 5:46 AM, PST | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

In a day filled with trailers for the biggest films of next year...well, we don't get a trailer for Prometheus. You'll have to wait until Tuesday to get that.  Instead, we get Two teaser trailers For the teaser trailer!  Just what everyone wanted...right?

Yeah, we know; this isn't exactly what you wanted.  In a day filled with trailers from upcoming movies such as Wrath of the Titans and (of course) The Dark Knight Rises, I'm sure you'd much rather prefer an entire trailer.  And yes, this method is pretty stupid.  Why the hell does Fox think we would want this?  Who do they think they are, Entertainment Tonight?

Despite how annoying this method of releasing trailers has become, there's still some pretty great stuff in these "trailer trailers."  Most of it is comprised of footage we saw at Hall H in Comic Con, and as I reported back in July, »

19 December 2011 10:54 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

The time has come!

Last week, we opened voting to find out which 2011 videos from fan-favorite artists Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Beyonce and Chris Brown were your favorites of the year and after several thousand votes were cast, we have the results!

So which videos ruled the roost in 2011? Check 'em out below.

Katy Perry, "The One that Got Away"

Katy's most recent clip dominated the competition, taking 54.76 percent of the vote. "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" held it up in second with 30.73 percent while Katy's spring smash "E.T." nabbed only 14.51 percent of the vote (probably because the visual spectacle is further back in people's memories than her more recent vids).

Read on for the fan-favorite videos from Swift, Brit, Queen Bey and Chris Brown!

Taylor Swift, "Ours"

Taylor Swift - Ours (Music Video) from nhoclink on Vimeo.

'Christmas Vacation': Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid and Beverly D'Angelo On Set in 1989 (Video)

19 December 2011 9:50 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Filed under: Movie News, Holiday Movies

Since its release on Dec. 1, 1989, 'Christmas Vacation' has become a holiday staple -- and not just because Mavis Staples sang the now-classic title track. (Try the veal?) Starring Chevy Chase (before he was the anchor on 'Community'), Randy Quaid (before he ran away from the Star Whackers), Beverly D'Angelo (before 'Entourage') and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (before 'Seinfeld'), the film earned $71 million at the box office and -- unofficially -- received a lifetime holiday season pass from TBS. What was it like when 'Christmas Vacation' was being filmed? Thankfully, Entertainment Tonight has posted video of a long-lost set visit to 'Vacation,' which finds Chase mugging, Quaid holding onto reality with a supple grip, and D'Angelo looking as adorable as you remember. (Sorry, Ari Gold.) No talking head shots of the now-deceased William Hickey (he »

First Trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation

12 December 2011 4:50 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

The first trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation has gone online. While I was underwhelmed by the Entertainment Tonight sneak peek, this full trailer is actually kind of fantastic (actual trailer editors > Et editors). It’s got some stellar action, a cool story, and a chill-inducing shot featuring the White House. The story finds the Joes in deep, as the entirety of the G.I. Joe team has been killed save for a few remaining survivors. Director Jon Chu has staged some nice action sequences here, and the trailer is elevated by a nifty cut of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.” Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, and Bruce Willis. G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens June 29th, 2012. Here’s the trailer courtesy of Machinima: »

Our Suggestions For Your 2011 Holiday Party Playlist

12 December 2011 11:30 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

It's that time of year.

Whether you 're the boss of a quiet little company in Omaha, Nebraska, or you're a busy city dweller with a tight urban family and too much work piled up to travel over the river and through the woods, the holidays mean one thing: Party! (Actually, they mean a lot of things, like love and family and giving, but just go with it.)

That means it's time to boogie! From an official company affair to just having a bunch of friends over to swill one-too-many bottles of Three Buck Chuck, if you're hosting a shindig, you have to have a playlist that is going to get everybody up and moving.

Here are some required (not recommended, mind you) singles from the year that was that demand to be spinned at your holiday fiesta.

Sneak Peek For The G.I. Joe Retaliation Trailer Features The Rock, Bruce Willis, And Snake Eyes

If you want to an early glimpse of the upcoming new G.I. Joe film Retaliation, you may be required to listen to Entertainment Tonight.s enthusiastic and occasionally barely on-topic chatter in order to get it. That's mainly a reference to the Et segment that aired early last month, in which the entertainment news program offered a few glimpses of the film from the New Orleans set. This included friendly banter with The Rock about Justin Bieber, whose ties to the movie appear to only be through the director Jon M. Chu, whose most recent directing credit before taking on the G.I. Joe sequel was Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Still, the connection is there and any excuse to talk about Bieber... right? There doesn.t appear to be any Bieber chatter in this promo for tonight.s episode of Et, which will feature the premiere of the »
