Trivia:
The character of Carl Lazlo is loosely based on 1960s Chicano lawyer Oscar Zeta Acosta. Acosta was briefly Thompson's attorney during the 1970s and is the basis for the character of Dr. Gonzo in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998). The title of this movie is an allusion to Acosta's book "Autobiography of a Brown Buffalo".See more »
Goofs:
Continuity: During the courtroom scene, 21 minutes and 5 seconds into the film, Thompson sets down his glass which is almost full. A second later, a close-up on the glass shows it sitting on the floor, empty. All further scenes in the courtroom show the glass once again almost full.See more »
Quotes:
Dr. Hunter S. Thompson:You couldn't invent someone like Carl Lazlo. He was a... he was one of a kind. He was a mutant. A real heavyweight water buffalo type... who could chew his way through a concrete wall and spit out the other side covered with lime and chalk and look good in doing it.See more »

A good flick, 17 December 2003
Author: rabid_halfling from 9th gate of Halifax NS

I am a fan of Dr. Thompson's work.. I also liked this movie, tho, Fear and Loathing was a much better film.. due to the director, and cast.. Bill Murray was a great choice for this film, tho it was almost too cookie cutter, no real feel of the drugs he was hammering at that time. In F&L you have the grittiness of the drug culture of the 70's, feels more authentic.. Anyhoo, if you are a fan of HST, this is worth the watch.. hey, paid 4$ for the vid, can not go wrong..
