Sex & Nudity

3/10

A man and a woman kiss in bed passionately. It is reasonable lengthy and she kisses her way down, but he stops her before she can perform oral. Right after, the man gets up and pours ice water down his pants in order to prevent himself from having an erection. No nudity is shown.

It is implied that an underage woman has had sex.

Violence & Gore

8/10

Jake La Motta has numerous boxing matches; punches are thrown however there is little to moderate blood in most. However this is not always the case.

In a boxing match, a fighter beats another against the ropes; we see heavy swelling and some blood on his face. Blood and sweat also splatter over the judges.

In another, a boxer violently beats his opponent. It's mostly bloodless until the opponents nose bleeds heavily (seen for a brief moment).

A man beats another man, and then slams his head and shoulder in between a car door several times.

A character raps a piece of cloth around his knuckles and hits another character in the face multiple times, whilst the character is not in pain he has some cuts that re-open due to the punches.

Jake attacks his brother by punching him multiple times and he also throws a punch and knocks out his wife.

Jake slaps his wife a few times.

Profanity

10/10

"Fuck" is used constantly among other words, clocking in at 130 times. Lots of it very aggressive. 2 uses of "cunt".

Some moderate to strong sexual references used throughout the film.

3/10

Many scenes take place in bars or restaurants with characters drinking and smoking.

10/10

The main character has violent tendencies and a self-destructive nature, which some may find disturbing to watch.

Suggested MPAA rating would be :: R for pervasive language and some strong violence.

34/50 - this is okay for 14-17 year old people (15/15+)
