Joni Eareckson Tada was initially skeptical about the offer from production company World Wide Pictures (WWP) for her to play herself in this picture as she had had no formal training in acting and performance.
The film's opening credits state: "This is a true story. It is still being lived by Joni Eareckson."
The 1979 release of this film about a quadriplegic coincided with ''The United Nations International Year of Disabled Persons'.
Billy Graham: Uncredited. The 16th January 1981 issue of the 'Toledo Blade' newspaper states that he ''...appears briefly in the film at an outdoors meeting where Joni [Joni Eareckson Tada] testifies her submission to God's will and her acceptance of Jesus Christ as her personal saviour.''
