A modern-day politician is faced with an incomprehensible in this mystical-fantasy. Senator Rast is a very powerful man. But his is nothing compared to the extraordinary power of the enigmatic stranger who mysteriously comes to "visit" him. Possessing uncanny magical prowess and miraculous psychic abilities, the peculiar, but seemingly benevolent, visitor quickly gains a spell-binding hold over the senator and his family. But a power-lusting political backer is also vying for control over the up-and-coming senator. And he would kill the influential stranger, without question, for that power. But he and the senator are about to be enlightened. Written by

The Rast mansion seen in this movie was actually the home of Western Australian millionaire entrepreneur Alan Bond. The house was mainly only used for exteriors. Most interiors of the home were filmed at a Perth studio though one room in the mansion was used for interiors due to its panoramic seascape lookout. See more »
seen a lot of stuff with robert powel in,but this has always been the one that stands out as his best to me.
Naturaly being 1980 its now an old and well used format but at time it was excellent, and even now i find it an enjoyable film.
The story is bought in gradualy but at a steady pace, the acting is enjoyable over all,and considering the lack of blood and guts it still holds its own as a decent spooky movie that when i was younger made me jump a few times and stayed in my mind for a good few months afterwards, not least because it was the sort of film everyone in my school talked about when saw it,and made other kids not having seen it want to!
