Chris Hemsworth's new movie, "In the Heart of the Sea," is based on a real-life disaster, but the actor and his fellow cast and crew members were nearly part of a disaster of their own when their film set had to be evacuated yesterday due to flash flooding.
Page Six reports that Hemsworth, pictured above on set last month, was in La Gorma, Canary Islands, off the coast of North Africa, in the midst of shooting with director Ron Howard, when local authorities ordered the production to evacuate the area. Howard tweeted about the incident, posting photos of rushing water, mud, and falling rocks.
Good luck that no cars or people were swept away or hit by tumbling rocks. All's well that ends well pic.twitter.com/mSAuAK5dmZ

McGann reprised his role as The Eighth Doctor in the mini-episode 'The Night of The Doctor', which saw his character regenerate into John Hurt's 'War Doctor'.
The actor has since told Doctor Who Online that he would consider coming back to the role in some capacity.
"Well, it's like with the mini-episode - if they send you the script and it's good, you'll do it," McGann said.
"So, you know, these things are only as good as the material. So the real question is if the material was good enough and if you were available, you'd do it - cos it's a Who!"
McGann went on to describe the lengths that he went to in order to »
All's well that ends well. Orlando Bloom opens up about his amicable separation from Miranda Kerr in an interview with Katie Couric set to air Friday. "We love each other. We're a family. We're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives. There's no question that for the sake of our son and everything else, we're going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn," The Hobbit actor says. Bloom and Kerr have already shown that they are going to continue to provide a loving home to their 2-year-old-son. They stepped »

Now that the Booth-Brennan relationship has been reestablished in "Bones" Season 9, it's time to move on to the Pelant fallout as it affects the rest of the Jeffersonian/FBI crew. Dr. Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley) feels that pain in "El Carnicero en el Coche."
Extra crispy car bits
But before we can get to the inner turmoil and early-life crisis of Sweets, there's a case. This one begins with a car that has been burned to a crisp. The car is so crispy, in fact, that just touching the frame causes large pieces to fall off in rather amusing ways.
There also happens to be a very dead body and a meat cleaver in that car.
Through the magic of the Jeffersonian, however, the team gets the extra-crispy vehicle back to the lab. Hodgins uses a combination of normal science and a Peter Pan-like harness to dig out many »
All's well that ends well! After Brooks Forester's shocking exit in part one of the two-part Bachelorette finale on Monday, July 29, it looked like Desiree Hartsock's dream of falling in love had turned into a nightmare. But things took yet another surprising turn on Monday, Aug. 5. (Major spoilers ahead!) Still in tears at the beginning of the episode over Brooks' shocking exit, Des sat down with Chris Harrison to decide whether she wanted to continue her search for a husband. "I'm not broken," she insisted. [...] »
Juuuust kidding, of course. We would never discredit James Dean's iconic performance in the classic film, which has continued to be both culturally and historically significant well into the twenty-first century. However, "Rebel Without A Cause" didn't always have its leading man.
While it's hard to imagine anyone but Dean in the role, another '50s heartthrob was also vying for the part. In this rare video, unearthed by our pals at IndieWire, we get a chance to see a then-very-young legendary actor Marlon Brando screen-testing for the Warner Bros. flick back when he was just twenty-three years old.
Apparently, the studio had been trying to produce a film adaptation of Robert M. Linder's book since the late '40s, but things never panned out. Brando's screen test was »

What would Nancy Drew think?
Emma Roberts (who brought the character to life in the 2007 film) was arrested on July 7 in Montreal for a domestic violence incident involving her boyfriend Evan Peters ("American Horror Story"), TMZ reports.
Roberts, whose dad Eric Roberts was arrested in 1995 for shoving his wife into a wall, was taken into custody after someone called police to report a fight in the room she was sharing with Peters, wherein they found the actor with a bloody nose. Law enforcement sources tell the website that Peters also had a bite mark.
The actress was released hours after her arrest after Peters chose not to press charges. Sources close to Roberts tell TMZ that the two were, in fact, hitting one another and she was arrested only because he had the obvious physical injuries. This set of sources deny that she ever bit Peters.

Absence, or in this case distance, clearly makes the heart grow fonder. Ireland Baldwin, who resides in Los Angeles, spent some quality time with Maui-based boyfriend Slater Trout over the weekend. And the two made sure to take advantage of the sand and surf as they hit the beach. Of course, cozying up in the water can sometimes be unpredictable, as Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger's daughter learned when her bikini top slipped off ever so slightly. Fortunately, Ireland was successfully able to quickly cover up again. All's well that ends well. »
All's well that ends well. At least that's the sense one gets upon hearing Demi Lovato talk about her ex, Joe Jonas. While the "Heart Attack" singer admits during an interview with ABC's Nightline that she was "really mad at him" following their split in 2010, the two are apparently now good friends. "I can fortunately say that him, and his brother Nick, have always been there for me and are literally family, and like brothers...we have a great friendship. And we may not be as close as we used to be, but that's Ok," Lovato says. And Jonas certainly proved he and Lovato are indeed still pals when he tweeted the following on May 14. "Congrats »
All's well that ends well. Whatever tension there once was between Les Miserables costars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried is water under the bridge now, as evidenced by their happy reunion at an after-party for the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 6. Two months after the duo's now-infamous dress kerfuffle on the day before the Oscars, Hathaway, 30, and Seyfried, 27, met up at the Met Ball bash at the Top of the Standard [...] »
This history of archaeology failed to dig as deep, or as wide, as I would like
• Watch Archaeology: A Secret History on iPlayer
• Watch Alex Polizzi – The Fixer Returns on iPlayer
Archaeology has some cracking stories to tell even if, of necessity, it tends to tell them rather slowly. Despite being fronted by the eager-to-please Dr Richard Miles, Archaeology – A Secret History (BBC4) did rather plod at times: mainly because Miles often made the same points over and over again; it wasn't as if the argument was that hard to follow, so I wondered if the budget demanded a certain amount of minutes per location. I never did work out quite why he had needed to go to Siena. Other than it's rather beautiful and a nice place to visit.
Which was a huge shame, because, with a little more focus, this could have been an excellent film that put archaeology under the microscope, »

All's well that ends well, right? Maybe ... unless it's happening on Fridays.
When ABC announced that "Happy Endings" would officially be moving to Fridays in late March, the cast wasn't thrilled -- and they finally opened up about it (above).
While the gang joked that "Happy Endings" could be the new Tgif, they also encouraged loyal viewers to tune in.
"Instead of going out and wasting your money at a bar or a club, that you can stay home and watch 'Happy Endings' for free," Zachary Knighton (Dave) said, while Casey Wilson (Penny) added, "Watch us Friday so that we stay on the air ... but if you're watching in any capacity, God bless you."
"It's a running joke on set when we film something we »
