Lesley Ann Warren,
The touching portrayal of a young mother (and dance student) who travels to California after the death of her husband. In order to pay the bills she takes up burlesque dancing. To her dismay, the club she works at is sold to new owners who transform it into a hardcore strip club, where the dancers must bare all. Reluctantly, she performs. Unfortunately, a photographer hired by her father-in-law is in the audience, who snaps some naughty pics of her performing. He uses these to try and get custody of his grandson. Written by
Lesley Ann Warren is one of those actresses who can make a weak story look good. She has that rare charisma quality that many actresses lack today. Here she plays a struggling mother who is torn between stripping and wondering what kind of an effect it will have on her kid. The only reason to watch this is to see Lesley, but I am a huge fan of hers as I feel she has never been given the credit she deserves although she finally did get much notice for "Victor Victoria". Even today she is underutilized and still beautiful.
