Jude Has Star Support on His Broadway Hamlet Opening Night

7 October 2009 7:45 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Jude Law took the stage for Hamlet's official opening on Broadway last night. His show got great reviews during his run on London's West End earlier this year, and now he's ready to conquer New York audiences. He worked up a sweat and had some celebrity support for his big night including Natalie Portman who rushed through the red carpet and Ed Westwick who had his usual faces all ready for the cameras. Ed's famous expressions are just part of what landed him on Buzz's list of influential men on TV. Jude kept the celebration going right into the afterparty. His run goes until December 6 and then it's time to promote Sherlock Holmes, which may already have a sequel in the works. The lineup looks as strong and varied as ever (crammed as usual with Cannes leftovers) under program director Richard Pena and his current film pickers—Jim … »

This will be a quick update, but I just wanted to post some info about my night so far. Yes, the fun has begun and I.m just in-between my gigs for the first night of the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival.A little over an hour ago I left Roy Thomson Hall where they were holding the red carpet for the gala opening film, director Jon Amiel.s Creation, which examines the life of Charles Darwin. In addition to Amiel, stars Jennifer Connelly and her real-life husband Paul Bettany walked the red carpet, not to mention the great-great-grandson of Darwin, Randal Keynes. So, now I.m recharging on a coffee while I charge up my laptop for the two-hour wait ahead of me on the red carpet for Jennifer.s Body, where I.ll be getting photos of Megan Fox and Adam Brody. After that I.ll have one more update for the night, »
