According to Bob Woodward's John Belushi biography "Wired", Talia Shire thoroughly enjoyed working with Belushi in this film. Knowing his drug problem, she told Belushi after the film wrapped he was a great actor when not using drugs and that she wanted to work with him again in the future. Unfortunately, with Belushi's untimely death three years later, she didn't get the opportunity.
According to John Belushi's widow, Judy, Belushi never saw this film. When it opened in New York City, he sent his wife instead, saying he didn't enjoy his part in it. She returned with praise for the film.
