Gareth Hunt replaced Nicky Henson as Agent No. 1 Charles Bind. Henson joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and could not do the film. Henson had originally signed on to do three Charles Bind pictures and had previously portrayed the character in the first film in the series No. 1 of the Secret Service (1977).

The James Bond spy spoof film Carry on Spying (1964) featured a character called Charlie Bind (Charles Hawtrey). Another later series of James Bond spy spoof movies would feature a main central character similarly named Charles Bind who actually had the same first name as the actor (Charles Hawtrey) who plays Charlie Bind in Carry on Spying (1964). The later spy spoof movies, all Lindsay Shonteff directed films, featured the central character of Agent No. 1 - Charles Bind. The three pictures were: Number One Gun (1990), The Man from S.E.X. (1979) and No. 1 of the Secret Service (1977).
